I've had it checked out, but non-porsche garage insists it's fitted correctly.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've just put new Fabspeed mufflers on my 1999 C4 - based on the fact they sounded pretty good on my old 993. However, I now seem to have the 'sports tractor' sound that turns heads, but not for the right reason. I'm regulary asked if my exhaust is blowing. I've had it checked out, but non-porsche garage insists it's fitted correctly. Anyone else fitted Fabspeed to this model and got a nice sound ? - I'm thinking of replacing with the porsche sports exhaust - but 2K !!! Could I have a faulty Silencer - any views ???

POST 2Original post

I have no idea what your's sounds like, but on my '99 they sound great (yes, a little loud and "growly"). Any chance Fabspeed made a different models for 993s and 996s? My car is louder under acceleration and at low rpms in gears 1-3, but its a sweet sound.

POST 3Original post

I have Fabs on my 99 C2 also and have to agree that they sound nice. Louder than stock yes, but too loud, I don't think so.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Perhaps I do have a fault - I'm due a main dealer service, so I'll ask them to check it out instead of replacing it !

POST 5Original post

i had the fabspeed at first i thought i had the best sounding porsche exhaust for the 996. But then i got a cargraphics exhaust with sport cats and man does this sound mean but mellow sound no droning. It comes closest to sounding like a F355 and i'm not kidding. It has that sound that almost sounds like a video game.
