Got a ticket for going a little too fast on a side street, officer that pulled me over was so pissed when she pulled me over she cuffed me and put me in the backseat of her police car while she checked my drivers license.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

26 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Got a ticket for going a little too fast on a side street, officer that pulled me over was so pissed when she pulled me over she cuffed me and put me in the backseat of her police car while she checked my drivers license. Throughout the time, I was simply being polite and nice about the big ticket I was about to get. When she finally gave me the ticket. She made a comment that if I contest the ticket, chances are, she will not show up. As I am standing in court to contest the ticket, the ticket magically disappeared, there is no records of this ticket anywhere to be found. The only explanation is that the officer did'nt turn in this ticket. It does pay to just be nice to the officers. Peter

POST 2Original post

Is this one of those "Believe it or Not" stories? Unbelievable! Were you cuffed in front or behind you? PS: I hope you didn't stare at her like you stare at us!

POST 3Original post

Unless there is something missing here Everyday speeding is not an arrestable offense. You ever heard of illegal search and seizure. You were seized. Instead of being happy you should be standing up for your rights. Sheep. Tom 1985 928s2

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Don: I was cuffed behind me. TV: It was'nt an ordinary speeding ticket. I was going more then a little over the speed limit. She probably could of written a ticket for wreckless driving if she wanted to.. If I would've been an a**hole, she probably would of wrote that instead of just unsafe speeds. Peter

POST 5Original post

you're right be nice to the cop...i was pulled after passing the cop at 95mph in a 65mph and just by being courteous to the cop and apologizing he let me go and just gave me a kind lecture.

POST 6Original post

You are correct. I've been pulled over about 5 times (never in the red C4S unbelievably) and the only time I got a ticket was when I was a total a$$hole to the cop.

POST 7Original post

I'd rather be a sheep that gets no tickets than a wolf that does.

POST 8Original post

hmmm, and thought only attractive women got away with that. in my experience, they always give you the ticket. and yes, i have been courteous and apologetic each time. i've found out that it pays to contest the tickets though...

POST 10Original post

Be really nice but ALWAYS find a way to convey the fact that the ticket WILL be contested. I always ask to see the speedometer calibration certificate and/or the radar/lidar/tuning forks certificates and documents the officer MUST keep about speed measuring equipment checks. But be aware, my kind of public roadway speeding could NEVER be declared wreckless. Oh, if it's a speed trap wherein many tickets are written in a short time then the officer WILL show up in court and you'll need to prove your case or disprove his/hers.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Jake: I thought it was wierd too. But traffic division can't find my ticket in their system, they even sent me to Criminal division to see if the ticket was accidently entered into their system. I even called the county traffic automated system and can't find my ticket there either. So I am pretty sure the ticket is gone. Peter

POST 12Original post

The last time I got pulled over the cop was more interested in the interior of my car than my speeding...You see all that money I spent on the Carbon Fiber Center Console has already paid off.

POST 13Original post

Talk about being nice... I was late for a flight out of Bradley Field in Hartford years ago. It was in the AM and I, well, sort of, sped thru a school zone. The lights were blinking but no one was in sight. Got pulled over by a local. Well, I never thought twice 'cause it was important that I catch the flight. After I stopped I jumped out of the car and started walking toward the car to explain my plight. The officer opened his door and told me to stop. I kept on walking trying to explain my problem, and drew on me!!!! I stopped dead in my tracks and explained my plight. He came over, told me it was ok to put my hands down and stop shaking. After checking license, registration, etc. he let me go with 2 warnings....one for the speeding and the other on how to behave when stopped by a law enforcement officer. "Pull over, put blinkers on, sit still and put both hands in view on the steering wheel." I probably led a sheltered life, but I've never had anyone point a loaded firearm at me.

POST 14Original post

I haven't gotten pulled over in the Carrera yet, thankfully. Whenever I get pulled over I tell the officer that I am due in surgery. One time I actually paged myself--the pager was beeping and I looked very concerned--the officer told me to be on my way and take it easy.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Rumster: One of the perks of being a doctor huh.... That's a great story. Peter

POST 16Original post

Wow, Peter. I am glad she let you go. I used to be an EMT (Emergency Medical Tech. Basically an ambulance driver) and I had a badge in my wallet. I got pulled over once in my 944, was real polite to the cop, and was let go with a warning to "keep in under Mach1"

POST 17Original post

Rumster, It works until the Cop insists on following you into the hospital and towards the operating room. True Story.

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Leon: thanks, Still in shock how different your car feels then my C4. The ROW 030 and the track tires does make a HUGE difference. Peter

POST 19Original post

Patrick - the sheep comment refers to someone letting their rights being trampled and being happy it was not worse, not in reagrds to behavior exhibited during the encounter. We are still not getting the real story, because it was the cop who is reckless here under what we have been told. ruey220 - siver996 and i have met the same cops. my last time the first words out the aholes mouth was "your being written up for 80" this on a 4 lane divided highway late night in a gm sedan. How do you sweet talk em. Nice boots? Tom 1985 928s2

POST 20Original post

PS Just remembered the seinfeld episode with the gorgeous girlfriend. Jerry says in response to being told he is being ticketed for 75 "Is that all because i was going a lot faster than that back there." Tom

POST 21Original post

Tom, I know what your "sheep" comment referred to. And you're wrong.

POST 22Original post

maybe they were filming a remote location Reno911?

POST 23Original post

I've always been polite when stopped but never have I gotten off a ticket. I even pulled over and backed up 10 ft to the motor officer so he wouldn't have to give chase! AND I still got the ticket... though the officer was really nice about it. I think he even felt guilty BUT I still got one! I guess some of us are luckier then others.....

POST 24Original post

....This isn't the car you are looking for. Hmmm maybe this isn't the car I saw speeding. ....You don't want to write me a ticket. You know I don't think I need to write you a ticket. ....I can go about my business. Move along. Have a nice day now ya hear. Move along. The Force - Works every time....

POST 25Original post

I probably led a sheltered life, but I've never had anyone point a loaded firearm at me. [/B][/QUOTE] Yep, you have lead a sheltered life Don. Got any friends who are cops? take one out for a drink some time and tell him that story. I bet you get quite an education on how the other half lives. Glad you were not hurt. Based on the opinions of the half-dozen or so friends I have who are cops, the right answer is to be polite and don't do anything (especially getting out of the car) unless you are told to. Most cops are simple guys with familys and bills to pay who are just trying to do their jobs. You CAN get one to behave like an ******* if you treat him like you think he (or she) is one. I don't have any particular love for cops, but the people I know who are cops are all reasonable down to earth folks unless they are provoked.

POST 26Original post

It can be so dangerous to be a cop these days... I was 19, clean-cut, driving the wrong way down a one way street in Manhattan in a Camry station wagon with Connecticut plates. The cops flashed me, one of them stood behind the car, gun drawn, while the other walked slowly into my blind spot telling me to keep my hands on the wheel... Intimidating. Necessary. Sad
