Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

MY99 C2, 18" rear wheels spaced out 18mm. Can anyone tell me if I can run 275 or maybe 285 without rubbing? Thanks

POST 2Original post

285/30s fit fine as do 295s. but you need the *right* width wheel and wider wheels or bigger meats up front to maintain similar grip at both ends.

POST 3Original post

I believe the MY 99 came with 7.5in width in the front wheels. So there may be a problem with steering if you dont have the wider 8in version of the wheels up front.

POST 4Original post

I ran the 7.5 inch rim with 295's rear. I ran -.5f -1.4r and I used to throttle steer it hard to make it drive correctly with stock suspension. Get the 8" rims and get 235's I would do that if I were you if you want 295 or 285's. Also another interesting thing is that my 99 with 265's rear was faster than a c4s or 02+ with the smaller tires, after it was even - just an fyi.
