Yesterday I removed the Fister modified mufflers and installed the mystery mufflers 😁 .

I took a chance on some used mufflers and came out a winner .

So I found these mufflers for sale at a REALLY good price . Seller knew nothing about them . They have no ID plate or any marking . I cleaned them up and they look/feel solid . Welds are very well done and the mounting brackets are thick . They are going on my car regardless of what brand they might be but there are some smart folks on here . So any guesses on what these are ?
Ptech3 actually I am hoping they are on the milder side . My 3.8 with aftermarket headers and catless x-pipe with Fister mufflers is quite aggressive . Yeah I am getting older . So I am hoping " sporty " sound with less bark than the Fisters . Plus a little weight off the back . We shall see .
Appreciate the leg work , you could be right . My lift is currently occupied with a suspension refresh of my 986S. As soon as that's done the 996 will go on the lift and we'll get these mystery mufflers installed .
Yesterday I removed the Fister modified mufflers and installed the mystery mufflers 😁 . Today I fired her up and I liked what I heard . A slight rumble at idle but much quieter than the Fisters . Took her for a drive and when warmed up I let her rip . The 5k to 7k full throttle sound is very refined . It's definitely a flat six sound . Just more subdued . I am VERY happy with the results . Also saving 20 lbs off the backside is a bonus . I took a chance on some used mufflers and came out a winner . Sorry no sound clips .
When the engine was built to a 3.8 I added aftermarket headers and a catless x-pipe . That setup made the Fister modded mufflers too loud for me . The mystery mufflers have toned down the exhaust note but still sound like performance . I am 100 % happy with what I have now .
