I've read various stuff about how it's an easy fix, can even use a VW switch, etc.

...in a parking lot today in my '99 996 C4 cab and first my key wouldn't go in, then I got it in, then it wouldn't start and the key wouldn't come *out*, then it started but with limited electrical (no wipers, and of course it was raining!). So I turned it back a hair to the left and wipers worked, so I went home while I could. Does anyone have instructions on how to do this repair/replace the ignition switch myself? I've read various stuff about how it's an easy fix, can even use a VW switch, etc. I'd much rather do that than give my Por$sche dealer any more money this quarter (oil leak, clutch, seat belt & airbag issue: peanut butter & cracker month!) Thank you so much in advance - right now it's an awfully heavy and pricey paperweight in the garage... Thanks! Kim. (phil's wife)
