Suggestion

A lot of folks seem to run Pagid orange pads for the track, but the squeel to much for the street.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My break-in period is over and I would like to start tracking my car. How long will stock pads last on a track? Are they useless or can I get a day out of them...will there be anything left on the pad? Which pads do people recommend for track days that are also okay for daily driving (no squeaking)

POST 2Original post

The stock (Textar) pad's aren't all that bad. I got a whole season, eight track days plus daily driving out of mine. They had about half the life left on the pads when I went to Watkins Glen at the end of last season, and I wasted the remainder that weekend. (Had to finish up about 10 minutes early) and drove home on metal. The stock ones are fine for the first few DE's, if you get hooked, upgrade.

POST 3Original post

The stock pads work well enough on the track, but once they get below 50% go ahead and swap them out as they are to thin to take the heat and they will fade out on you. How long they last depends on the track and your driving style/ability. A lot of folks seem to run Pagid orange pads for the track, but the squeel to much for the street. I do know that Pagid makes a sport pad that is supposed to be better on the track than stock and still streetable. HTH

POST 4Original post

I had my stock C4S pads/rotors changed at 18k miles. Brake wear light was already consistently on, but there was still a decent bit of pad material. That was after about 24 DE days plus almost daily driving except for winter. I started out as a novice with this car, first ever DE. As a novice, you should get something simillar. Now, I expect my pads to last quite a bit shorter. I still hate the idea of squeeky brakes on my almost daily driver, so i don't think I will upgrade.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
