How do i know if my alternator is giving the correct charge to the battery?? coz I installed a new battery 2 months ago and now its dead .. so am wondering if i had any problem? or it might be an old stock battery and nothing wrong with my alternator! So any one knows or experience this problem before? 996 C2 '99

if you start the car every couple days and it seems to be okay, then the alternator is probably okay because the battery is getting recharged every time you start it. if you let the car sit for a while and the battery goes dead after a couple days you probably have a bad battery. I just had a similar problem. My batter kept going dead even thogh I had just changed it. Turned out that I had a battery drain from the cell phone.

okey then ! if my voltage indicator at idle is showing 12V while gear on 'D' what dose this indicate ? for me its not normal even the cluster light got weaker but after driving its OK ! it only happen at idle
