Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just got my car back from the body shop after having the windshield replaced, and unbelievably, they installed the rearview mirror upside down! Of course they agreed to right the wrong on Monday, but I would like to save the trip if it's a riskfree DIY job. Is it possible to remove the mirror without that stalk that is glued onto the windshield? I just need to rotate the mirror, right now the tab that you use to tilt the mirror is sticking up at the top looks really funny, but also annoying...

POST 2Original post

This is on my Boxster but it is the same for a 996. With padded channelocks you rotate the shaft 90 degrees counter clockwise. Jeff

POST 3Original post

OUCH!!!! No need for the channel locks. You should be able to do it by hand. I did to change to an autodimming mirror. go to renntech.org DIY section, you;ll find a long thread on changing mirrors
