Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

If i sit in my car with the engine off and the driver's window down, I can hear the clutch squeeking when i engage/disengage it.
The sound seems to be coming from under the car.
My car has done 3,700 kms now.
Surely, this can't be normal???
Any one else experience a similar problem?
thanks
Chucksta
Close the windows.
No, actually, I do not hear my clutch squeaking. But I have never sat in the car and tried to hear it. For your own sanity you might want to stop doing that kind of thing. Cars make all kinds of weird noises and worrying about them can get compulsive.
It needs to be lubed. Common problem., Your dealer knows how to fix it. Not a big deal at all. Mention it at your next service. It happens a lot on cars which are not driven very often.
Someone pointed that noise out to me as well a while back. Apparently brake dust can get into the clutch assembly and cause the problem. It requires taking the clutch assembly apart, but is supposedly covered under warranty.
Anyways, when I took my car in for the noise, in turned out that all it needed was a little grease on the pedals
na,what you're hearing is the spring that is under the dash. it sits in this cylinder of lube and it's dry. the dealer can add the special lube and then viola.
hey chuck, dont want to jinx ur car but Fadz996 had this problem and the car was playing yoyo between him and the dealer... after a couple of months they found out it was the clutch flywheel that had a hair crack.. changed it (warranty) and it's ok now..
they had changed the moveable parts int he system two times before discovering the real problem.
good luck

No, if you hear the sound from under the car, it's not the clutch pedal but the clutch release lever. Porsche modified the design a while ago, but some of them still squeak. Won't cause technical problems, but should be fixed under warranty. Quite a job, so make sure it's done.
Cheers,
Uwe
