I ran a C4S Coupe for a few months earlier in the year and lost hardly any money at all after 8K miles.

This time - i sold it "un-used" and that's why i'm concerned that i've been "black-listed".

i would add that my interest in nice cars is to run a currently-hard-to-get-hold-of "premium" car.

bitterly disappointed that i can't run such a fabulous car - yet am happy with the decision in light of my business "politics".
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

first post. Hello.
i took delivery of a C4S CAB this week.
i subsequently sold it the next day.
car was from UK OPC.
i have a business with 33 trading branches (not car related).
i closed 4 branches in the last 2 weeks as they were running at a loss.
the co is 25+ yrs old and the remainder of the co is strong.
for me to run a brand spanking new C4S CAB would do me no favours at the moment so i advertised it a couple of weeks ago and achieved a profitable sale.
bitterly disappointed that i can't run such a fabulous car - yet am happy with the decision in light of my business "politics".
SO !..........
whilst going through the handover of said machine in showroom and actually enjoying a perfect "retail moment" - the dealer coughed and said :
"did you get much interest in this car then?" ...followed by :
"is it already sold?.....Porsche GB asked me to let you know that they know you're selling it".
Some questions result therefore :
Is it right that i was made to feel so grubby?
will either that porsche (or any other) UK porsche
dealership ever sell me a "premium" car ever again?
Is my name - as we speak - already "blacklisted" in some way?
I am not a car trader and when i ordered the car in JAN'03 - i fully intended to take it and use it in the normal manner.
My circumstances having shifted - and it not being "right" to gadd about in a new porsche - meant i didn't want the car. But, simultaneously I didn't want to jeopardise the 10% deposit i had lodged with them.
I paid for the car - thereby fulfilling my contract -and i'm of the opinion that i'm entitled to dispose of my own goods should i so desire.
What i really dislike is the way i was made to feel grubby.
What i would hate to think is any future order i place with any UK OPC will be delayed or put forever a few more places down the list.
Have i queered my pitch ?
Your comments please .
Well I know Ferrari has a black list and boy do they stick to it. When the 360 spider came out a couple of my friends had orders for them and sold them for a 75k profit. They are now black listed in the US and in Italy. They will never be able to buy a new Ferrari from a dealership again...so they say.
I doubt Porsche is going to be that way....
i would add that my interest in nice cars is to run a currently-hard-to-get-hold-of "premium" car.
that way i usually enjoy really healthy residual disposal values.
I ran a C4S Coupe for a few months earlier in the year and lost hardly any money at all after 8K miles. Sold it privately with no issues .

I want to be able to continue to acquire "premium" cars without fear of the OPC taking the deposit and then massaging the waiting list to make sure i only get a car once the market for that particular variant has cooled.
Actually as you reveal more....it seems you make a practice of having Porsche "diehards" subsidize your costs.
I hope you you wait a long time for your next car
Not at all - just needing to leave the office sharpish this evening and had been looking at a couple of other threads. Have bought cars from a number of dealerships though, and consequently rather surprised that a comment like that would be made given the porsche guys I've come across. Can only assume you just hit a rather obnoxious / smartarse salesman.
Colm...
market forces are what they are...i didn't determine the rules of the game...i just participate in it.
An undisputable basic business principle is that it's good to buy well & sell well.
I am practical and straight in all my business affairs but i'll be bu**ared if i'll sell at lower than market value just to appease someone else.
As far as blacklisting goes, they're not going to stop you ordering a car, but I wouldn't expect any favours from the dealerships. Sure at the core they're always ultimately going to be salesmen, but in my experience it's usually more than just a livelihood to them, and they'll go out of their way to help genuine customers - I've ordered 4 cars in the past 2 years and in each instance taken up a foregone factory slot and avoided any waiting lists for example. Given the turnover of 2 cars in a very short period and the fact that it was somehow apparent to the dealer that you sold the cab on as brand new, you're unlikely to fall into that 'genuine' bracket.
PS
I think that a lot of people on this board are passionate enough about the cars to consider that entrepreneurial activities that are detrimental to those who actually want to own a porsche are not really a game. And surely on the basis that you state, anyone who is buying with business principles overriding the desire for ownership can reasonably be seen as competition by PUK, and could hardly be surprised if they're not treated as valuable customers?
To go back to the reason for my first post... if the intention is to buy a 3rd porsche and actually run it, then any dealer should understand a genuine reason behind the sale of the cab - if the inherent thought behind your question is the possibility of making some more money, then you've come to the wrong place to discuss anything.
thanks, Fozzy.
i prefer to keep good relations with people generally.
feel disappointed that i've allowed this situation to occur.
in future i'll buy a car and run it.
this turning for a profit doesn't actually taste very nice
