Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
My car came thru with no flaws, and has been back to the dealer only for an oil change (and tires).
Leading evidence: 'Replace (and tires)' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Porsche provided a darker headliner than I specified- but it worked out fine.
Greetings:
I know that you will get hurt when it comes
time to let the car go. Any opinions on the
paint to sample ? Is it terrible if you choose
something like light Torquoise with a black interior ?
Almost the 1950's color of a T-Bird. Hey I probably
should not have said that. I need to get my water
gel now.
Sure you would never get a parking ticket in
New Mexico. I know the resale would be poor.
Any opinions on paint to sample in general ?
Bugatti Blue is perhaps nice looking also.
Color is really not that important to me.
It is more important when you have the option
to build your car from scratch. I am more
interested in the car than the window dressing.
Of course they could make this far easier by
releasing the RS later in 04 and upsetting the
people that already got their first. Anyway we
are a "little" market here in the USA.
I am thinking of the following options:
Full leather interior
xenon
X-45E colored gauges (if available)
painted exterior color
rear console and door handles.
paint to sample.
I'm sure we can think of some great colors to paint a new GT3, maritime blue, viper green, signal orange, sepia, etc. But you can be sure if it's not silver or black the resale value will really hurt.
Get the color you want. Just remember the special order colors can be hard to match (for touch ups and repainting).
Silver and black, whatever, there are tons of them out there... boring!
You know, now that you mention it...The MclarenF1 in its final year sported a really sweet looking deep burnt orange that was simply stunning! Any idea what that color was?
How long will you keep the car, and how many miles will you put on it? I specified paint to order on my 02X50, but I expect to keep the car 10 years and put on 150,000 miles. By that point, the resale value is gone, and is independent of the color. But, I'll have enjoyed every mile. AS
What color paint do you have on your 02 X50 ? Did you have to
wait an extra two months for the car to be finished ? You do have
a point where after several years it would not matter. I hope to
keep the car a long time.
Here are photos of Howard Yevsky's viper green RUF 3400S. He wanted to order a viper green 986S from the factory back in 2000, but Porsche wasn't selling paint-to-sample to US customers at that time - so he went to Ruf.
Wow, Option 99. This must be recently added. Is there a code for non metalic paint to sample? My order guide does not show what is posted. Is this a ROW order guide. Thanks.
Best,
Don
This is the newest US order guide dated 9/10/03. There doesn't appear to be a non-metallic color to sample but I have a feeling there should be one. I mean, I don't see why they could offer one and not the other.
OK, You guys are kidding right? You know that color smells like *** all day long right?
I'm gonna go get my RayBans and look at it one more time and try not to hurt my eyes in the process...maybe I am missing something. However, I can assure you of one thing though- It MAY work for you but...for an African American brutha like myself, I could NEVA git away with parading down main street without getting looks like I should be drive'n it with a a big droopy hat equipped with a peacock feather, shoes on the clutch with goldfish tanks in them, and a license plate that reads "HUGYBEAR"!
And a mouth full of gold teeth when I smile like this ->
RalphK- While I was told the car would take an extra 2 months, it took less than half that long. I provided a painted card (also clear-coated) and kept a duplicate for later confirmation. The color is a 1980 Porsche color then called "Casablanca beige metallic"- it's no longer known to Porsche. It's a bright metallic gold.
In part, the time is supposed to be necessary for them to make sure it doesn't interfere with some infra-red sensor. I was told the paint-to-order cars are on a separate line- don't know if that's true. My car came thru with no flaws, and has been back to the dealer only for an oil change (and tires).
Having the body shop paint the card is helpful in figuring out what interior colors you want, and to make sure they got it right. Porsche provided a darker headliner than I specified- but it worked out fine. AS
