Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I had some issues with an interior door panel, but that was because the dimbulb doing the work kept trying to re-use the fasteners, which is a nuh-uh.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

after 3 weeks ownership of my 03 TT i have a question for every P-car owner. does the rattling noise comment in 996? after 3 weeks, both of my doors and center console, maybe also the seat areas have rattle noise. i figured i better turn the audio on all the time to NOT hear the noise. well, i ask because on my pervious 02 C4S had the same noise problem. i took the car back & the dealer was able to fix them but after a while they'd come back again. i probably won't take the car back just to fix those noise problems, but i do want to know if everyone's car here is noise free & rattle free? i do have bad luck buying everything though

POST 2Original post

Well mine doesn't rattle and it's a 00 cab! There is the odd squeak very rarely. But I think it's just where the roof rubber mates with the windscreen. Apart from that it's rattle free.

POST 3Original post

I have the same issue, have taken it to the dealer twice now. First one was a clip, supposedly on the right rear window, did fix the rattle but now there is still some creaking coming from the area. I think there is a body integrity issue as when I pull into my driveway I can hear the body creak. This is the third 911 I have had, 993 and 991 and the other two have had the same issues, rattles and creaks so I believe it is a quality problem.

POST 4Original post

Hi Leo, Hard for me to believe there is a "body integrity" problem. The 02-and-up coupes especially are very stiff. My 03 has no body squeaks I can detect. What makes you think it's the body creaking? Where is the creak coming from? OTOH, there are a lot more rattles/squeaks than there should be. This has been noted before in this forum and others. Porsche clearly has some interior quality control issues which are not being taken care of at the factory.

POST 5Original post

I have had mine 5 years and months, the only noise I have had to fix twice is the front of the dash--a well known problem on the early ones, don't know if there was redesign. I had some issues with an interior door panel, but that was because the dimbulb doing the work kept trying to re-use the fasteners, which is a nuh-uh. Porsche is not a large enough company to do the extensive NVH work the real majors do. So far as I know that is highly iterative process on interiors where they shake the hell out of them for ages, and track down each thing one after another. More of a development shortfall than a build quality issue, in other words.

My 02 Cab is as tight as a drum. (knock on wood)
