Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys I need help! Just got a 996 gt3. Haven't drove it for 2 weeks trying to unlock the door but couldn't with both keys. The LED is flushing on the dash. The door keyhole is sealed so I can't even open the door manually! Any suggestions? Thanks!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I didn't even know there's even such a thing as keyhole plug. I'll give it a try in the next few days. The car is in my warehouse 20 miles away can't get to it as frequent as I want. Thanks!

POST 4Original post

There's a painted pug covering the keyhole. Pop it off and your key will slide right in. Edit: Plug, not pug. A painted pug would bite your hand, BTW.

POST 5Original post

The remote door locks go into "sleep" mode after ~ 1 week to help save on battery life.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Visited my car today and got the keyhole plug out. Got the door open and the car started right up. The remotes resume function again. Thanks guys!
