Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The short version is this: if you want to use your headlights to light up the road and provide maximum visibility, then use 4,300K HID bulbs.

makes sense...if so OP, we use a D2S bulb, many good options:

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

A common problem I hear about with 996 headlights is hazy/yellowing. I occasionally apply wax was to bring shine back but one thing I notice is at night when lights are on the lights have a yellowish glow around edges. I am assuming this has to do partly with age as well as stock bulbs. Does anyone recommend blue/clear bulbs to fix this? Any pics of upgraded headlights?
Just get the lenses refinished. Should cost about $40 to $60 per lens. Make sure they apply a clear coat afterwards, or they will cloud up rather quickly again.
Yeah cuda been researching different heat resistant clear sprays to apply...even after I buff out and they super clear again they still look a little yellow once headlights on...I wonder if I change the cruising light bulb if this would help...I'll post pic so can see what I'm talking about

And remember ~4300k bulbs emit the most light.

I won't give my full headlight speech...
The short version is this: if you want to use your headlights to light up the road and provide maximum visibility, then use 4,300K HID bulbs. You will see a little bit of yellow around the edges. This is normal. If you want a certain look and you don't care about reduced viability, then consider higher temperature bulbs like 6,000K. They look much more blue/white.
I thought the same thing with the yellow cast but I attributed it to the incandescent city light which is always on. This give the headlight a yellow cast when looking directly at it but no so much the light on the road when seeing it from inside the car.
