Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Not different enough for the effort, but if you were replacing the decklid anyway, why not?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Of this 997 lookalike trunk lid?

POST 3Original post

The badge slopes downward from left to right and doesn't look factory, placement is important

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, totally agree, the badge placement looks terrible, I think the lid is ok, I've never seen this mod before so I thought I'd post it. This is not my car by the way

POST 5Original post

Yes, the emblem is definitely not centered and crooked, but the look of the louvered portion is nice. I like the 996 style myself, so the 997 style is not a real bonus to me.

POST 6Original post

Looks good. Not different enough for the effort, but if you were replacing the decklid anyway, why not? Now, about that badge placement... The OCD crowd is going to blow a gasket.

POST 7Original post

What's with this fascination or need to have something look like it's not? Especially something that subtle only a Porsche enthusiast would notice but then they would also notice that those aren't 997 taillights and the bumper seam goes straight across like on all 996's. ????? I get some like that style better but then you have some amount of people just trying to be posers(budget ballers). lol

POST 8Original post

The only people who care about the difference are the same group of people who will be able to tell it isn't original and those people will judge you more harshly for trying to fake it. Soooo, yeah do whatever you want......

POST 9Original post

Cant really tell the difference. I do like the rear bumperette delete though. Is this your car? Why the swap?

POST 10Original post

Don't change...911 is meant to be as is IMHO...in 20 years you will be glad u kept as original as possible
