when all was said and done how much (ballpark) did you all pay?
i helped my cousin through the buying process of a 996 C4, and when all was taken care of (taxes and such) it came to around 120.
That is a sh*t load for a C4!! there ae no taxes other than sales tax (depending on where you live) since luxuy tax was abolished on 1-1-03 (one less tax...)
I bought my first TT (01) for 123K + taxes of around 10K!!
I am waiting for my c4 cab with options and the list price was 96k....they are letting it go for 88-89k. My lease is 1083 per month for forty eight months. I think you paid a WEE bit much.
I paid even more... <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" />
My 2002 C4 Cab cost me $126,000 but I got some very expensive options like Natural Leather, and Full Leather, PCM, Aero Package, even Euro Delivery...
But that was before they abolished the luxury tax, and California sales tax is 8.5%
Sounds like your cousin has a little bit of money to burn. Just hope he doesnt go to sell it anytime soon. He will be in for a very big surprise if he finds out his car just depreciated 35%. But if he enjoys the car then that is all that really matters. Dont feel bad about it im sure he would have been in much worse shape without your assistance. Be sure to post some pictures!

For all you guys getting the deals, are you buying cars "in stock" from the lot? My dealer doesn't have any new cabs in stock with the options I want. If I order a customized one, should I expect to pay MSRP? If not how much less do you think? Thanks in advance, I've never optioned a car before- always bought off the lot.
P.S.- Searching the forums now for past answers. This is for my mom, her first Porsche! The car she want is Lapis Blue C2 Cab w/Litronic, Power Seats, Heated Seats, Tiptronic, Park Assist and Hardtop delete. She'd like to do a 24 month lease, 10,000 miles/year, and as much money down to make the lowest payments.
You can negotiate ahead of time on a spec car. In today's economy you shouldn't be paying anywhere near MSRP no matter if it is off lot or spec. However you will probably get a better deal on a lot car. You may want to check a bunch of dealers, someone may have your car on the lot in a near by city.
I picked up my '03 c2 cab for sticker ~89k
you could get into cabs for hi 70's low 80's but i wanted full leather, bose w/ 10" sub, 18" sport classic wheels
Also, I don't know if this is how it works every where but my dealer does not sell anything above MSRP no matter how rare or saught after

cstricker-it makes absolutely no sense to put any money down at all on any lease. besides, with a combination down payment/monthly payment, you will lose track of what you are actually paying for the car. my recomendation-get the best 0 down lease that you can get, at the length that you want.
