Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

i had posted earlier about my shifter popping out of 2nd gear. it did not happen all the time but was certainly something that needed immediate attention. a few members mentioned that it would require a new trans mission, i have to admit i was thinking adjustment not transmission. well my dealer took the car on wednesday and by wednesday afternoon the decision was a new transmission was needed to corect the problem which was internal. a new transmission was found in Atlanta and overnighted and installed on friday and the car was ready for pick up on saturday. now that is the kind of service we porsche owners are supposed to get. the car is great. thanks to all for the help you guys called it right.

POST 2Original post

did you just tell them it pops out of gear and they looked at it and fixed it? I tried telling my dealer about this and they said that they checked it out to spec and no problems.

POST 3Original post

Ruey, There was a recall on '02 transmissions, while I am not sure wether your car was supposed to be included, I would recommend that you go to another dealer for a second opinion.
