Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think the wiper blades need replacement, chatter and beginning to smear. I believe the OEM are separate part numbers for driver and passenger (straight and curved). My question is to anyone that may have used after market blades such as Bosch, are these also straight and curved? If not does it matter? POST 2Original post

I've used Bosch on my '99 996 Cab with ease. Needed to shave about 1/4" of rubber off the blades, and simply reinsert the metal parts from the old one.

POST 3Original post

This is what I used. <img src="http://www.986host.com/albums/ToolPants/wiper_blade.jpg" alt=" - " />

POST 4Original post

I have used the Bosch blades and found them no better than OEM and no cheeper. Why not put the Oem on and not worry about it.

POST 5Original post

I went down to the local parts place and just bought the rubber inserts. They were cheap, fit well and cleaned as nicely as the originals. Just make sure you measure the length and with of the blades. If I recall correctly they were approx. 29" by 1/4in thick. And make sure you measure don't go by the guides they have in the store they do not work at all for Porsches.
