I am curious if most of you would swap out the suspect injector and assume it is defective.

After I removed each plug I decided to take a peak into each cylinder with my Teslong TD450S to check on bore health (I highly recommend this tool).

Leading evidence: 'injector and assume it is defective' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'injector and assume it is defective' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check on bore health (i highly' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2002 C2 911 Cab 3.6L 81k miles. While I was installing the UAOS in May I swapped in new Bosch injectors purchased from LN. Fast forward to a few weeks ago. A really humid day after a rain I got some misfires. I ordered some ignition coils and plugs from LN and installed them this weekend. After I removed each plug I decided to take a peak into each cylinder with my Teslong TD450S to check on bore health (I highly recommend this tool). Cylinder 6 gave me a little surprise. Some fluid was pooling by the piston and the cylinder wall. I pulled a tiny sample out with my bore scope and believe it was gasoline by odor and the cleanliness of the piston. Perhaps the new Bosch injector is leaking? Would a genuine Porsche branded injector be more reliable? I am totally not looking forward to going back in there to swap out this injector. But I will do it to stave off engine issues. I am curious if most of you would swap out the suspect injector and assume it is defective. POST 2Original post

This is almost certainly oil in my opinion. You have at least some bore scoring on #6, which you can see the top of in the last image you posted. Likely it's much worse further down and oil is seeping past the rings with the engine off.

POST 3Original post

Contact LN about the injector. They're pretty good about standing behind the stuff they sell.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I will take another peak with the piston fully retracted.

POST 5Original post

FYI Looking with the piston fully retracted is a good start and will show extreme bore scoring, but it actually starts at the bottom of the bore, which is covered by the piston even when fully down. To bore scope properly you really need to look at the cylinder wall with the piston all the way UP by looking through the crankcase.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
