Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

All suggestions appreciated.

I have been very happy with Continental TS790's: <a href="http://www.conti-online.com/generator/www/us/en/continental/automobile/themes/pc_tyres/winter/ts_790/master_en.html" target="_blank">http://www.conti-online.com/generator/www/us/en/continental/automobile/themes/pc_tyres/winter/ts_790/master_en.html</a> They receive quite favorable reviews in the German car magazines.

POST 3Original post

I've used Bridgestone Blizzak's on my A6 4.2 in Lake Tahoe for years - by far the best snow/ice tire I've experienced. Tire Rack sells them mounted on inexpensive 17" Porsche "replica" rims (I wouldn't run 18's, as the extra sidewall height of the 17's is nice for absorbing impact on winter roads). Good Luck, -DT

POST 5Original post

An SUV is not a winter tire. A winter tire will actually improve your safety in snow and ice. </font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">quote:</font><hr /><font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">Originally posted by willard: <strong>I think Lexus calls it the GX470.</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana,Tahoma,Helvetica">

POST 6Original post

An SUV with a good set of winter tires is a superb improvement over a C4 with winter tires!

POST 7Original post

In snow greater than 4 or so inches I agree. For small amounts, a C4 is no different than any other low, powerful car, like an Audi S4, which people seem to think is a great winter car. I have to admit that if I had the space, it would be nice to have a beater for the few bad days, but luckily I live 2 blocks from a car rental place.

POST 8Original post

Dunlop Winter Sport M2 (Factory recommended) I drove my Boxster S the whole winter in the northeast with no issues at all.
