Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

FWIW, I measured my 01-C2 {real carefull like, even used a level} and from lowest point of seat {fully powered seats} to the head liner {with sunroof closed } I measured exactly 37 & 3/4 Inches.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have an '03 C4 (not C4s, the C4 narrow body is still available in Europe) and I have an option on a Turbo for Oct 03 delivery. The problem is, headroom. Let me explain :- I am 6ft7in and 18stone. Not fat, just a big bloke. My C4 has standard manual seats which fit me really well, and no sunroof. Net result - about 1 1/2" clearance between my head and the inside of the roof. The Turbo has a sunroof (cannot delete this in the UK) and electric seats. I'm concerned that I'm going to lose out on headroom because - I think (but do not know for sure) that the sunroof reduces headroom by about an 1 1/2" or 2". Also, I have heard (but do not know for sure) that the fully electric seats on the Turbo are slightly higher than my manual seats, as fitted as standard to the C4. Now, I can regain 10mm by choosing the -10mm seat height option, but will it be enough? Sitting in my C4 I have exactly 1 1/2" of clearance between my head and roof lining and the vertical distance from the lowest part of the seat to the roof lining is 96cm / 37 3/4". I'd really appreciate any Turbo owners putting their seat as far back and as low as it will go and doing the same measurement. Thanks for your help

POST 2Original post

Spie, You might want to post this {if you haven't already} on the 996 Turbo Forum as well. FWIW, I measured my 01-C2 {real carefull like, even used a level} and from lowest point of seat {fully powered seats} to the head liner {with sunroof closed } I measured exactly 37 & 3/4 Inches. I measured twice thinking I must have messed up since that's what you got on your C4 with no sunroof and manual seats. But 37&3/4's it is. I feel your pain ... I'm over 6 foot too. It gets pretty tight when I've got a helmet on!

Pete, thanks for taking the time to do that I wonder if there is a difference between 01 and 02/03 cars?
