Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This was a good read & just published a few days ago. Cites a 996 that sold for strong money not long ago at Amelia Island Article: Link

POST 2Original post

Nice Article and over-view .....but a few technical errors like stating The Boxster had a 3.0 liter and referencing the problematic IMSB especially to the 3.4 lost few points with me...sorry...

100% fair, but glad for positive press

Just trying to keep it real !! I know what I feel from driving mine on the Street and Track , and the "Public Perception" from 90% of all the people I see on the Road and at the Gas Station,.............The negatives always come from the "upper 10%" of the people who "think they know" ......

POST 5Original post

Hey for a 26 year old car I’m just glad it’s finally get honored because it’s well deserving of respect

POST 6Original post

$40K might have been good a year or so ago but 996.1 Aero coupes are bringing better money now, this one sold for $50K plus auction fees, 👍 Rich https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/m...11-carrera-29/

POST 7Original post

This. 911s are very popular in Las Vegas. The snooty action is generally from people that own 992s and know little about their own car, never mind 911s of vintage. These people perceive a 996 as inferior because it's old & small. You'll be able to identify these owners as they wear large 'LV' belt buckles, no-show socks with dress shoes and a 42mm or larger Rolex.

The new 911s seem a bit giant which I dont see as a good thing. Of course my 996 seems giant compared with my air cooled.

I think this is true but the Roundies(air cool guys) are just as ignorant sometimes.

POST 14Original post

I read an article a while back in Linkage magazine, I think, by Jay Leno and the theme of it was Dont be that guy reminding us readers that all car guys are to be celebrated no matter what they drive gotta say its hard sometimes as certain vehicles make me scratch my head, Tesla Cybertruck ? I guess the word was enthusiast as such we need to appreciate the ride but maybe not the wannabe driver 😀 all Porsche models are special in their own way. Rich Join Us!

POST 16Original post

It took me awhile to adjust to new styling cues after so many years with 911 classic body. We're a bit resistant to change sometimes. Honestly it was pretty hard for me just appreciating the 964 until it hit me and I got a sweet one when most people didn't yet see them for their undeniable assets. Never thought I'd be a water chilled guy but one long winter it was cold and rainy and I was living in a city with an Internet connection, a little money, and no skiing, going to work in the dark, coming home in the dark. OMG, 996s were all over the web. I was weak and some of the guys were secretly whispering about how fun the 996 was. Urges I didn't really ever forsee started growing in my mind. So, with my other cars far away in a different state and not available, the wheels were turning. It became unrelenting and after a period of weeks/months I took a flyer on a crazy deal that got so sketchy nobody was touching it, but the seller's agent wasn't saying things you would say if you were hustling, so I wired funds. My banker was like, 'what the frick?" . I don't recommend it but... Yep, it gets driven.
