Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Finally, if you are comfortable having an independent shop work on your car, I will recommend Glenn's Porsche in San Dimas.

As they use Enterprise for loaners, I am wondering if anybody knows of a dealer in the L.A.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After keeping my car for a week Rusnak Pasadena tells me the PSE they had ordered is not "complete" and no other one is available in the US. They have to get the PSE from Germany and it will take 3-4 weeks. They will call me when it gets here. As they use Enterprise for loaners, I am wondering if anybody knows of a dealer in the L.A. region that gives out Boxsters or Cayennes as loaners so I will have them do the PSE install instead of Rusnak.
The Auto Gallery in Woodland Hills has given me a Boxster twice when my car's been in for work. They may be able to help you...
Also, why get your PSE from Rusnak, when you can probably get it for half the price online?
Thank you ZeeZee, I'll give them a call.
As to why I was getting from Runak, it was an impulse buy. The car was in for the 15k service and I thought (erroneously) that it would be quicker.
Beverly Hills Porsche (service is located on Santa Monica Blvd. in West LA) has provided Boxster loaners to me in the past. They've also done a great job on everything they've done other than one rattle (which they fixed just today as a matter of fact). I recommend Larry Rusk as a service advisor - he's very precise.
Unless you absolutely 100% feel the need to get it installed at the factory dealer, you will save tons of money by getting it installed at an independent Porsche shop. The dealer probably quoted you $600-$1000 to install the exhaust, right? Well most independent shops charge $150-$300.
Also, Beverly Hills Porsche gives Boxster loaners...just make sure you're over 25.

Trojan Man,
Dealer quoted $1150 for install, $2299 for parts.
They also said (both Rusnak and Auto Gallery) that the exhaust is not available in the US right now and they would have to order it from Germany -2 to 3 weeks.
Maybe I should check with Gert.
(BTW I'm a SC Alum, Fight ON!)
i installed mime at Pacific Porsche in Torrance. Boxster was provided, but i think u have to make an appointment.
great people. price was an big issue and installation cost me around $800. i know i could save money if i go somewhere else, but they happened to have the parts in stock so i can do it right away before i change my mind =)
my adviser told me there will be some wiring jobs to do for the on/off switch, that the main reason they can't save my money on labor. anyway, he is a great guy and i choose to trust him... even though i know i could save few hundred bucks maybe somewhere else. at least the sound make me happy!
Fight On Leon,
I have several comments, so bear with me:
The install should only take 2 hours if you do not want the electronics working or about 4-6 hours if you do want to have the exhaust control button in the cockpit. IMHO, the electronics are a waste of time, but only you can decide for yourself.
Gert most likely has it in stock or can get it faster than 2-3 weeks. He is also much cheaper than dealers.
If you prefer to go through the dealer and you have a decent relationship with your dealer, you can get up to about 20% off parts and around 10%-20% off labor if you ask the parts/service manager nicely.
Also check out Ebay. When I was considering a C2 cab I found several PSE systems for around $1000 or even less.
Finally, if you are comfortable having an independent shop work on your car, I will recommend Glenn's Porsche in San Dimas. Glenn is an awesome guy and his work IMHO is better quality than the dealer because they work on professional race cars. [phone removed]. His standard labor rate is $75/hr. Tell him that Ryan Gaytan sent you.

You can get the PSE from many sources in Florida - I got mine complete for about $1,300 from Braman Porsche. I had the electronics installed at the Auto Gallery - all in was about $1,200 for install, although if you forgo the elecs it'll only cost you about $150 from By Design (that's what they quoted me - 1.5 hours of work).
Give Braman a call and see if you can save the dough and speed up the delivery time...
