Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Meanwhile, the people that had european delivery have used their cars in europe and are shipping them back to the US.
Leading evidence: 'Use their cars in europe and are shipping them back' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'dme software) and the results have been resubmitted' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace they could make' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Apparently some software changes were made (he said OBDII but I'm guessing it was more likely the DME software) and the results have been resubmitted for EPA approval.

Probably a lot harder for the dealer to mark-up the price of the car with European Delivery.

Does anyone have any info on what changes they could make to the software that would NOT detriment the performance of the car?

The car is never formally registered nor licensed so even if it's illegal for sale in europe or the US you are likely to be able to "test" drive it by taking european delivery.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

According to my dealer's PCNA rep, the GT3s in the port of Baltimore (5) are still on hold pending EPA approval. PCNA submitted them once and they did not pass. Apparently some software changes were made (he said OBDII but I'm guessing it was more likely the DME software) and the results have been resubmitted for EPA approval. They are saying they expect to get the approvel within the next 5 days but I've heard that before, so time will only tell.
I wish I knew where to go because Baltimore is only 40 miles from here and I'd love to take a ride up tomorrow and see if I can spot the cars in port.
Karl
Karl,
You have the patience of a saint! I'd be chomping at the bit by now!
Porsche's arrive in the port of Baltimore via the Dundalk Marine Terminal, 2700 Broening Hwy
Dundalk, MD 21222-4190 (you can map it on Yahoo)
Odds are its in one of the bldgs tho. Maybe you can sweet talk them into a peak. Do you have any paperwork, or order#.
Good luck!
Software changes?
For f sakes, does that mean the car may have less than 380hp?
Does anyone have any info on what changes they could make to the software that would NOT detriment the performance of the car?
If they f*ck around with the motor I am definitely then going to get the chip remapped.
This is crap.
Meanwhile, the people that had european delivery have used their cars in europe and are shipping them back to the US. Does that mean their cars will also be held in port?
I don't know what exactly the EPA objected to. Since my dealer said OBDII, maybe they just didn't like some of the test parameters or something. With the government anything is possible. I would hope PAG had the engines tested a certified a long time ago, so hopefully the changes won't impact the engine performance. In any case, it won't be hard to find someone with a PST2 to load the ROW DME software after taking delivery, so I'm not too worried about it.
Hopefully this will all be resolved in a couple of days but if it isn't, the Euro delivered cars will sit in port with the rest of them, because US customs won't release them unless they have both DOT and EPA certification.
Supposedly the car is at PDI, so I may go up there tomorrow and see what I can find out. It's supposed to rain again, so there won't be a lot else to do :-(
Karl
I just talked to a different dealer that I am most likly geting a GT3 from and he said that his car was just released from port and is on its way to his dealership. It is a westcoast dealer so it must be a different port, but this is what I am told.
Evan
I was told by my dealer today that all GT3's will be held until September 1st. He said he got this from his PCNA rep. I hope this is wrong. I do know my GT3 is completed and on the way.

Karl
My dealer told me the same f'n thing?
Why?
Also, someone on funcarsonline from the UK, just got his car and he says the shifter keeps bouncing out of 1st and reverse?
To be honest, I am not too crazy about everything I hear so far about this car.
