Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suspected cause
They are proven to be the best chip for the 996 turbo so I think it's a good bet.
Leading evidence: 'best chip' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'best chip' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean 996tt' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

selling my car and adding 18K can get me a good clean 996TT ..

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just would like to know if it makes a real huge diffrence when you Drag a chipped 996 and a stock.
is it noticable power ?
i found a place where the can chip my car for $1200 is it a good price ?
any side effects ?
In a non-turbo car, you'll be lucky if you see 10 hp difference if all you do is reprogram the DME or add a piggy-back chip. PAG just didn't leave much on the table with these cars. You may do a little more if you also add headers, exhaust, and intake but I doubt if you'll get more than 20 hp gain total from all of these mods.
On the downside, you can get into problems with check engine lights being caused by these mods. The only fail-safe way to add real HP is with the X50 kit or the powerkit for earlier cars.

i want to sell my car and get a TT ... but the problem in here is the U.A.E. market .. i will loose alot if i sell it and there is no way i get a manual TT only tiptronic and they are rare in the second hand cars market.
honestly am very disapointed by the Carrera (non-turbo) power. God they are Slow cars. But i Still love them .... and this is my problem !!!!!!
get the giac chip and you'll get 23 hp for a 99 and a bit less for others. They are proven to be the best chip for the 996 turbo so I think it's a good bet.
hmm interesting though how giac doesn't have a dyno graph on their site. Upon some searching through their pic folder, hehe, I found it, only a thumb and it honestly didn't look too impressive especially given their claims. It must be for a 3.6 or something. They really need to post their graphs. IN any event I have been told time and time again especially from gemballa na, that their chip is the best, there can be none better, only the same. I like that.
yeah but the motor won't last for sh*t. I dunno about those things. the car is already at 11:1. Without dropping the compression and or running 100 octane all day the rings won't last too long. I had the same deal on a 351w bronco I had with a blower. It was really cool at first but eventually it will wear the snot out of things and then your burning oil up the wazoo from blowby
i've been told that the Super charger have been really tested and it doesnt harm the motor. but here i was offerd the SP kit with fitting and everything for 13K. i thought seriously about it but then ... selling my car and adding 18K can get me a good clean 996TT .. which means compared to the C4 Supercharged .. better look, better handling better brakes and more performance and .. stable engine .. unlike the SP where i risk the engine.
Still cant makeup my mind .. the market is going really down here.
C4 coupe tip model 2003 (imported from germany) can be found around 47K which done almost 5-10K miles
....... if i sold my car i cant stand to live one day without a porsche.
