I used chromed bulbs that are not amber when off, but they light up amber when they're on.

They all look pretty clean but my vote is for the factory smoked model� I made the swap on my car.

I had heard that if you just replaced the original bulb with LED it wouldn't work with the flashers.

Supposedly, for running lights they have a steady amber led light, for turn signals they go to a sequential bright light blinking in unison with the front & back signal lamps...

Don't like the amber oem side markers now with the Anthracite grey wheels.
So, whats the consensus on a Biarritz White 2001 c2 for side maker lights. Clear or smoked..?
Is the turn signal marker light mode worth doing...? Are sequential markers a good option..?

Oh, those Morimoto ones are much nicer than the smoked one I got with the sad little orange bulb inside. I just ordered them and will give me old smokey to my sister in law who has the same damn car as me.
I didn't think there were clear OEM ones (at least there weren't 24 years ago when I replaced mine), so got the OEM smoked ones. I used chromed bulbs that are not amber when off, but they light up amber when they're on.
Sorry, Going to hold on to them just in case.
Would like to get the Morimoto side markers but they don't come in clear only smoked. Thinking the smoked on the Biarritz White 2001 c2 is to much contrast and will stand out like a sore thumb ..? Kind of like the orange ones do now with the new color wheels...

Shoot them with body color paint for the European look. Super easy for a body shop to do, could even do it yourself.

I did the mod 15 years ago and I think it's worth it. More visibility is always better. I switched to LED side markers a couple of years ago and they work with no problems. I don't remember which brand but someone on this forum recommended them. I had heard that if you just replaced the original bulb with LED it wouldn't work with the flashers. I can't confirm nor deny. The one I have gives a solid light across the whole fixture, not individual lights or a cluster like some versions.
Mine are smoked with the single bulb. Much better than the Ambers. Agreed with

The orange markers provide contrast to enhance car color. Clear lens at night lit up = OK, blah in daylight. Smoked either night/day = blah, besides you get cancer from smoking lenses.
