My Brit friends often can't use their GSM mobiles in some places when mine works just fine.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi everyone,
I'm going to Anaheim and Las Vegas in July.
Porsche parts are very expensive in Australia. I think they are alot cheaper in the USA. I'm thinking of getting some carbon fibre door entry guards, twin eliptical tail pipes and the carbon fibre handbrake/shifter.
Are there any good dealers close to Anaheim or Vegas?
Does anyone know if parts are cheaper in Japan? I will be there on a stopover.
By the way, what is the GSM 1900 reception like in the USA? I heard that the USA has a different mobile phone system to everyone else in the world.
thanks,
Chucksta
GSM is becoming much more widespread in the USA. It still isn't everywhere, but it should work in LA or LV (except inside Casinos where my mobiles almost
never
work).
Don't know about dealers in LV, but Anaheim and nearby Los Angeles seemingly has about 1200 Porsche dealerships! lol
Perhaps a local can provide better insight?

Chucksta,
You can get a list of dealers off the Porsche US website.

You may want to contact them ahead of time to check prices and availability. Most dealers will give a discount on parts if you are a Porsche Club member.

I use a GSM tri-band phone and get fine reception in Las Vegas. Coverage varies all over the US. It also depends on the carrier agreements your Aussie mobile company has with those in the US. My Brit friends often can't use their GSM mobiles in some places when mine works just fine.
As for parts being cheaper in Japan, well I guess you've never been there. I've traveled and have done business in Japan for over 10 years; nothing is cheap in Japan. Most import items are marked up a minumum of 100% but quite often 200%. Additionally you'll typically find items manufactered in Japan to be cheaper in the USA than in Japan itself.
