Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anybody know what the Porche name for this color is? I have seen 'Mirage' used but can't find it listed anywhere. thanks '99 996 'Mirage'

POST 2Original post

Chris, Not 100% sure what L555/AS is, but AS is typically Arctic Silver. The Mirage color that you are referring to is probably Meridian Metallic. Do a search for a thread on that color to find some pix. Its somewhere between Silver and Seal Grey...I love it...my c4 cab is Meridian Metallic.

Thanks - Actually tried to upload a pic of the car - as soon as I become a "member" I guess I can - meanwhile you can view the car at; <a href="http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/sjdietrich/vwp?.dir=/My+Photo+Album&.src=ph&.dnm=1999+996+Mirage.jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/sjdietrich/lst%3f%26.dir=/My%2bPhoto%2bAl" target="_blank">http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/sjdietrich/vwp?.dir=/My+Photo+Album&.src=ph&.dnm=1999+996+Mirage.jpg&.view=t&.done=http%3a//photos.yahoo.com/bc/sjdietrich/lst%3f%26.dir=/My%2bPhoto%2bAl</a> bum%26.src=ph%26.view=t or <a href="http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/sjdietrich/vwp?.dir=/My+Photo+Album&.dnm=1999+996+Mirage.jpg&.src=ph&.view=t&.hires=t" target="_blank">http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/sjdietrich/vwp?.dir=/My+Photo+Album&.dnm=1999+996+Mirage.jpg&.src=ph&.view=t&.hires=t</a>

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yup - sure enough; Did a search on rennlist and Meridian Metallic is the color - thanks! Strange thing - The color code on the hood (and in the owners maintenance manual) is L555 - this comes up no where on line.

POST 5Original post

According to the Porsche Technical manual... L555 - is Paladio Metallic and was only offered in MY98, 99 and 00 (98 only in Europe).

The Mirage Metallic is a little more gold, and doens't have that sort of rose tint to it. Here are some pics. <img src="http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid65/p38c82c3e57048c6437949c20e3fb49bf/fbf12bde.jpg" alt=" - " /> <img src="http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid65/p9856c87baf7d81cb2b71d3784ca7c577/fbf12be5.jpg" alt=" - " /> You can see in this pic just how gold the paint is. <img src="http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid65/p473f998aecf46733a2c2661cc6d2c636/fbf12be1.jpg" alt=" - " /> Persoanlly, I prefer Meridian.

POST 9Original post

It's Mirage. Meridian was not an option on '99s. And if you need to see colors up close and personal, order some plugs. Got 'em in every factory color. Email me with any questions. [email removed]

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Here are actual pics of my car... Nice of Porsche to make the colors Mirage and Meridian so close in color. It'd be interesting to get them side by side to see the real difference. <img src="http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/porsche1.packed_R.jpeg" alt=" - " />

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ah...Loren is correct - I did some digging - the following sites list L555 as Paladio Metallic or Platinum Metallic; <a href="http://www.autocolorlibrary.com" target="_blank">www.autocolorlibrary.com</a> <a href="http://www.autovisuals.com" target="_blank">www.autovisuals.com</a> <a href="http://www.martinsenour-autopaint.com" target="_blank">www.martinsenour-autopaint.com</a> Why am I being so **** about this? I've ordered a nifty little wing from spoilerdepot.com and they don't list the L555 color on their site. I'd like to make sure that they can paint it with the right color before they send it off...
