Mark I had the squeaking problem on my driver window too early on which the window seals was replaced by the dealer.

How do I remove the door panel so I can lubricate the window mechanism?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yesterday I purchased and drove home an Ocean Blue Metallic / Savanna Beige 1999 C2 6-Speed Coupe and it is fantastic! What a car! For the first time since wrecking my 993 in November, I don't miss the 993. The 996's are simply amazing!
A quick question: The driver side window squeaks loudly when opening or closing it. How do I remove the door panel so I can lubricate the window mechanism?
Thanks,
Mark
IF yours is like mine, it is the window seal that causes the squeak. I don't think you need to remove the door panel to fix it. Congratulations!! Enjoy your car.
Great colors.
Also check the fasteners for the door panel, i.e. see if the panel is mounted fully flush around the edges. If not, that causes a window squeak.
Do not take off the door panel without securing a full new set of those clips, they cannot be reused successfully.
Mark,
Congratulations on the new car. I am also a new 996 C2 owner, mine is a Lapis Blue/Savannah Beige combination. Not sure how the Ocean Blue compares to the Lapis Blue but from what I can see from the avatar picture it looks great!
Have fun,

Any idea whether it wwas a recall or warranty work. My car is out of warranty and the dealership wants $187.92 for the driver door inner seal and $278.81 for the driver door outer seal!
Anyone know where I can get rubber seals for better prices??
Thanks,
Mark
