I haven't pulled my deposit on the GT3 yet, but I suspect once they get EPA certification, and it heads to the dealership they are going to want to close the deal and I'll have to make a decision on which way to go.
Leading evidence: 'once they get epa certification, and it heads' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'once they get epa certification, and it heads' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Test drive)' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I put the deposit down Friday (so an upcoming trip to Germany is also in the works for a test drive) but as I understand it I may have to take silver.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looks like my GT3 is being held up along with everyone elses.
However, I've come across a sweet deal on a Carrera GT. I put the deposit down Friday (so an upcoming trip to Germany is also in the works for a test drive) but as I understand it I may have to take silver. I don't want silver, I want yellow, and no I'm not going to paint the car.
So let me ask this, which would you get the GT3 or the C-GT?
GT3 - Plus side it is less expensive all around, has plenty of performance, and could be a daily driver. Down side, in a couple of years everyone will have one.
Well we can hope can't we?
C-GT - Exclusivity, unadultered performance, but not good as an every day driver, nor would I want to do that to the car.
Insurance company doesn't have rates yet.

Last but not least, there is a 3rd car in the mix, a 550 Barchetta, and after seeing the LeMans win today of the 550, I'm wondering if that might not be the way to go, although I might trade the Barchetta for the Maranello coupe instead for "practicality" reasons. (Don't ever try to put a top up and down on a 550, I'm not really sure it can be done!). A dealership in Chicago has a 550 coming available soon and I figure that might make an excellent track car and a reasonable daily driver, but then again, it isn't a Porsche so what will my buds in the club think?
Anyone have a guess on the C-GT as to whether or not once released the resale value will go up ala the Boxster a few years back and the 360 Spider these days? I figure that for "investment" purposes the C-GT will hold its value better than the GT3, but that's only a guess.
Sorry for the rambling, I figure someone here might be able to provide some advice or maybe has had to make the same choice recently.
any word on what the C-GT is going to cost? If you're going to track the car a lot i'd go with the GT3, it will be way cheaper to maintain and still be lots of fun to drive. If you want one of the best cars money can buy, get the C-GT.
May i ask why you're not considering a GT2?
I would take any of the Porsches over the 550 Barchetta, a 575 might make it a tougher choice but i'd rather go with the ease of ownership factor that the Porsches provide.
As far as C-GT's holding their value or possibly gaining value, i really have no clue what they're going to sell for so i don't know how to answer that.

If we get to vote, I would do the 575M Coupe and the GT-3 for roughly the price of the Carrera GT.
Traditionally, the "investment" merit (think lower depreciation) would favor the Carrera GT, but there are so many ultra-mega-exotics here or coming it could take a while. Unless McLaren is doing something, only a Ferrari or Porsche has any chance of doing well, still probably a better entry point down the road since they are supposed to making 1000 of them, not 100.

Just for your info,I did get a quote from my insurance co. on the CGT. $10000.00 per year Mileage restricted to 2500,garaged,Duh,(who would keep it outside). My problem is what color to choose. GT Silver my first choice, but would love to see the Fayence Yellow on an CGT not just the paint chip example.Anyone here confirmed for the Test Ride (Drive?)in Leipzig? By the way I confirm the $440M price.
440 was about what i thought. I think the GT2 would fit your needs perfectly, i'm still not sure why that is not up for consideration
The only car i would take over the GT2 is a Ferarri 360 Challenge Stradalle coupe. I saw it today at the car show on Rodeo Dr. and am completely in love. Also saw 2 Enzos btw, talk about a dream ride.....
