Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
1) Stongard uses 3M material, in fact most kits (Xpel, Invinca-shield, ArmorFend, etc.) use 3M material.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I'm looking for an authorized Stonguard installer in the south-eastern Ohio or Pittsburgh, PA region for application on a new 911. Anyone have any recommendations or suitable alternatives? I'd prefer Stonguard over 3M since the kits are supposedly cut from full sheets instead of smaller pieces fit together when applied.
Thanks!
Ryan
Ryan,
I know an installer (best in the country supposedly) who is traveling to Cincy in a couple of weeks to do an install on a 911. He'll install whatever kit you purchase but a couple of notes you should be aware of.
1) Stongard uses 3M material, in fact most kits (Xpel, Invinca-shield, ArmorFend, etc.) use 3M material. There are other manufacturers but only Avery is one that I am personally familiar with besides 3M. I think Avery is easier to apply than 3M, but 3M looks better.
2) Because 3M only makes the material so large (I think 24" width max) some Stongard kits don't have as good of overall coverage. Xpel has notoriously short coverage. Invinca-shield seems to have the most complete, albeit at times in pieces.
3) Installing the front nose of a 911 in a single piece is a real ()*@#$& and requires a lot of stretching which is more likely to leave imperfections in the install. Think of trying to stretch a square of wax paper over the nose cone of a rocket!
4) A really good installer can seam two pieces together to where you don't see the seam without planting your face right in front of the car
5) Feel free to check out several installs on my car and other cars in the Pictorials section of the website in my signature line.
Let me know if you can get to Cincy for an install, send me a PM or Email and I'll hook you up with the installer. I don't know the exact date yet, certainly within the next 2-3 weeks. Let me also say that from personal experience (and others on rennlist) this guy is phenominal. No vested interest, just a very happy customer!
Ryan,
I might also add that I don't think anyone has a kit for the GT3 front nose yet if that is what you are thinking, thus this guy can do custom work as well. I'm not certain, but a base 911 kit could probably be modified to work on a GT3 but trimming in some spots and adding in others. Hence the need for someone who is good at that sort of thing.
I used to live in Pittsburgh and could not find an authorized installer when I bought my 996 3 years ago. I don't think it has changed. The Sewickley Car Store folks used to get Armourfend in from outside the Pittsburgh area, but it was very expensive (over $1k for the car).
