Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well my ignition lock etc. is doing the problematic deal right now. Has anyone tackled this fix on their own? I have removed the trim grommet and don't see how to remove it. I have gotten the three part numbers from Loren, but Don't know which I will ultimately need. Basically what it is doing is as it appears would seem to indicate that the spring that returns the key to and fro is broken. When I start the car I have to turn it to the left a bit. When I withdrawl the key I have to wiggle it left and right at the far left end. I also have to angle the key in and twist it to get it in. The car things the key is still in as the radio and the remider ping stays on as well as the instruments etc. Please help I would like to fix it myself if possible immediately!!! If the dealer will do it and someone knows how let me know how to handle that to save the labor and dough. I don't have an extended warranty as of right now so yeah. Please help! Thanks. Also let me know how much parts and or the fix cost if you have had it done as well as what part(S) were replaced. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

I had a similar problem where I took the key out and the engine kept running. I had it fixed for less than $200 out of warranty.
