Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Outcome without a verified action link

adding one makes absolutely no difference whatsoever, you got duped out of some dough there.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a '99 C4 (just got it) and I'm thinking about getting a set of H&R coilovers. Anyone have them on their C4? I'm wondering how harsh the ride is. Also, is it necessary to upgrade the sways too or will the stock (non 030) ones be okay? Thanks!

POST 2Original post

I have coilovers on my 99 C2 Cab. The ride is not TOO harsh but may be considered harsh to some when compared to stock. I just upgraded to the thicker factory sway bars, and for three hundred dollars and two hours of installation time you can't go wrong. Another thing for the 996 that is 100% Bang for the buck is a strut tower brace for the front. Makes a huge difference 250-275$$$ Would you be interested in buying mine? I've got about 12-15 thousand miles on them. They are good for about 60,000! Let me know and either way, goodluck with your ride. Cameron

POST 3Original post

? strut tower brace for the front is that a joke? there is already one built in if you look. adding one makes absolutely no difference whatsoever, you got duped out of some dough there.

POST 4Original post

I agree with Sean on the front tower brace. I got talked into putting one on my 996. I saw no difference with my set-up. Then I bought a factory Cup car and guess what? They use the same strut brace as the stock 996. I've been told even the GT3 RS use the stock strut braces. If it's good enough for the pro racers, it's good enough for me. Save your $250. Karl
