Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

my wintersport 210 developed a bleb on the sidewall. pirelli did not respond to the tire dealer for 4 days and then told him they don't make this model any more! i haven't recieved any response to 5 phone messages in the last 2 weeks! any ideas?
Funny you should mention this. I have a set of PZero Asimmetricos and 1 tire's sidewall is cracking. I called and left 2 messages and i thought no one would ever return my call. On the 3rd day after my 2nd message, someone (who sounded like an idiot who knew nothing about tires) called me back.
I will share with you what he shared with me:
Take the tire(s) in question to an AUTHORIZED Pirelli dealer and ask for a warranty inspection.
He said there are some tire shops that merely sell Pirelli as a secondary line, and these are "associate dealers". Do not take it to one of these. To find proper "authorized dealers" search by zip code on pirelli's USA website.
Hope this helps!

it took pirelli 4 days to call back their authorized dealer--NTB. they initially offered 50% credit on the tire until they realized they did not make it anymore.
the NTB dealer told me that pirelli never honors their warranties and has awful customer service, he advised me to buy michelins next time. any more suggestions how to get pirelli to be more cooperative?
Unfortunately, I am fresh out of ideas. This is my first ever warranty claim on a tire.
In the past, when tire shops offer to sell that rip-off of a tire replacement guarantee I have always passed. Given how expensive these tires are to replace and how prone they are to little inconveniences, I may just start purchasing the warraty.

someone please share your pirelli stories with me--positive or negative. i am considering reporting these to porsche. if this problem is typical porsche should reconsider pirelli as an oem product.
Ignacio,
Two avenues to consider:
1- Ask your dealership when the next time their Pirelli rep is going to be in town. Either plan to meet them there, have the dealership give you a call when they are there, or just leave the tire in question with the dealer and ask him to either send it in to Pirelli's Warranty Center or have the rep look at it next time he is in.
2- If you purchased the tires from this dealer, and you are going to purcahse another set from him, ask if he can help you out at all on the next set. Tires are ALWAYS negotiable, the margins dealers make on the super high performance tires is usually very high. If the dealer wants you as a return customer he will make some form of goodwill concession and then get it back from the pirelli rep on his own time.
You mentioned the tire in question is no longer made by Pirelli, if you have a chance take down the DOT number (long number on sidewall, last 4 numbers are date of production...for instance 4001 = 40th week of 2001) unless the tire is very old (5 years or more) you should be able to get something done from Pirelli even if they no longer produce that tire. Of course this ALL depends on if this is a real defect and not road hazard. If you hit a curb, or ran the tire underinflated it can cause a slight seperation in the sidewall plys and cause a bubble to form. You will usually see a blemish mark by the bubble. If there is none then it is more than likely a factory defect.
Hope that helps. I highly reccomend you go with the Continental Winter Contact for the winter and the Conti Sport Contact 2 for the summer. They are the best all around tires out there right now, but then of course I am biased
