I know of someone who uses the H&R springs with their 03 suspension and it seems to work very well for them.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All,
I was wondering which shops in and around Toronto do good work at respectable prices?
I just bought a used 996 and I am thinking of ordering a new suspension for the it (think it might be time as it has over 150,000 KM's) and was wondering what everyone's impressions were on their setups?
For example, KLZ, if you are around, I'd love to hear how your H&R setup worked out and if anyone has the ROW M030 or the PSS9, I'd be very interested in their impressions of the handling/clearance issues for the car in downtown T.O. I was going to order the ROW M030, but remember reading somewhere that in Canada, we might have the ROW kits instead of the US kits so I am heading to the garage now to figure out if i have an "030".
Thanks in advance!

im in toronto and i have a 2003 carrera with X51 motor and MO3O suspension..i have been taking the car to the track and find the understeer quite bad..this past friday i met a guy at the track who had a 99 carrera with bilstein struts and h & R springs..he also had GT3 sway bars front and rear...the car was awesome thru the corners and i couldnt believe how well the car drove. i would spend the money on his mods and i still might!! GTEK or fiorano in toronto are both good shops that race and can help you.
come to mosport next month..see ...www.dexterauto sport.com
Okay.. just checked. One of the option codes was "030". Does this mean that I do, in fact, have the sport suspension? And, if so, is this the ROW suspension? Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks again,
MT

I do have H&R spring on my C2 cab, don't have any problem either at downtown or uptown!
How is the ride quality and handling behavior with the H&R springs installed... is the car much "harsher"... does it correct the "lift" problem 911's have during hard cornering on a decreasing elevation chicane?
and from what I understand an alignment is required...
regards,
Peter
I would strongly recommand H&R coilovers if you love conering and bringing your P-car to tracks but considering if U work or live in the downtown area springs would be more suitable
It really depends how much $ do you want to spend??? I ordered my H&R coilovers thru my friend's shop, maybe you could give him a call to see what best suits you !!!

I'm in Toronto (Avenue and Lawrence area). I use the H&R Coilovers. I will be going to the July 11 Dexter day as well. I have always wondered why the Toronto boys (and girls) don't get together locally. Anyhow, I love my coilovers but they are a bit harsh over some Toronto bumps (and holes after this past winter). I just recently helped a friend install the ROW030 suspenion on his new Boxster S and it is really nice. I hear that the ROW030 setup for the 996 is quite nice as well.
Hi All,
Thanks for the reply! Regarding the H&R Springs... Would it be advisable to use them with my 030 suspension?
Actually, does anyone know if the "030" option code mean that I have the ROW M030 suspension?
How much is your friend looking to sell them for?
Thanks again all!

Taco, the only shops that I can sincerely recommmend are Fiorano & G-Tek as well. Years of experience for good service, tuning and race prep.
Being from T.O. myself, I know all the players.
Also, they wiil both tell you, PSS9 is the way to go for your car.

KLZ: I have been to BBR a couple of times when I used to get work done on my A4. How do you find their prices for Porsche parts. Also, did you just recently buy your 996 from Pfaff Porsche? I think I was looking at the same car!! (The yellow with Aero-kit)
Thanks again for the replies everyone! I will look into Fiorano and Gtek. Anyone know how much a PSS9 system costs installed when all is said and done?
mightytaco: I've know Billy for a while, and he just do me the favor for ordering me the H&R coils @ his cost, some ppl might think his price is too expensive but you get what you pay... that's my $0.02
I used to have H&R coilovers on my 993 C4S, I luv it alot, so when I pick this up couple of months ago, I didn't think of the other and went with the H&R's!!!
OT: Did anyone of you in Toronto have ordered the new GT3???
I know of someone who uses the H&R springs with their 03 suspension and it seems to work very well for them. If your car is North American, you have the North American 030, not the ROW030. I have read a lot about the differences between them and there is a difference in springs but very, very little difference in shocks (between 030 and ROW030). If you're not going to splurge for the coilovers then the H&R springs with your shocks should be fine. Jason, no I didn't go to the last two Dexter days but I am going on July 11. I'm also considering the Kensai day on July 01 (Tuesday holiday, www.kensairacing.com)
As far as a get together for local people on this board, I'm happy to set something up (I get together with a bunch of Audi guys often). I'm not sure if the Dexter day is the best day/time for it but perhaps one of the next weekends sometime (unless most people head up to cottages). If yes then we can meet up for wings and beer sometime one weekday evening. Who's interested? Let me know via email at [email removed]
Attention Toronto people. Due to some interest, I'm going to try to organize a small get together in the Toronto area (mid-town since that's where I live, sorry Oakville and Newmarket folks). Please email me directly if you are interested. I'm at [email removed]
Nacelle?
KLZ?
Mightytaco (I don't want to know what that means)?

Anyone else?
996?
Let me know.
If your car is silver and you live in Thornhill then yes, you know me (unless your avitar is actually a picture of your car and then it's yellow, not silver so forget it, you don't know me).
I did get your email. I'll set something up for late this week or next week. Your car sounds like it's beautiful. Red stiching, yummy. I finally found that suede headliner on E-Bay. It's got a tear in one corner that has been fixed (supposedly) but I don't know. Anyhow, it's time to decide on a chip for me.
