Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok, before proceeding into engine reinstall process -- finally - Im cleaning those blocks naturally. Found out that the cylinder that had most severe bore scoring has some carbon remnants underside the cylinder bore. I was able to remove some black relatively loose carbon as seen in that picture but should I try to get all that whats left removed as well? I have tried soaking with ATF, WD-40, ATF/acetone 50/50 mix, CRC Carb cleaner etc but that remaining stuff is really stuck - not to mention that theres very limited space to do anything. I might have some stronger cleaner that I used to clean one of the oil passages from similar stuff but that space and closeness of the cylinder is a bit worrying - well, it's a water based so I could dilute if it spills. Well I guess I could soak a Q-tip and use that like I did with the oil passage but I dont want to over do with stronger chemical unless needed. Any opinions?
