Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Is it totaly imposible to burn the tires out on a 2003 996 ? I had a 2002 m3 it would launce beautifully i bought the 2003 996c2 and i cant get the tires to spin for a good launch someone has to have some kind of answer??????
BTW - I have 11" wide Gemballa wheels with 295's on the rear - could this make the difference between burnout or no burnout?????
HELP !!!
Assos,
Bottom line is - you bought the wrong car !!!
If you want straight line you could have saved big $$$ and bought some american muscle. This is a more refined car, straight line means nothing.
The C2 is a very poor performer as far as a daily driver is concerned (to and from work etc.) However, it shows its true colors on the track - this is where you will find satisfaction (if you can drive that is) And don't think that because you had a few drag races that you can drive - it is a whole art of its own to master a track.
I lost off the line to an M3 with my F1 and was very pissed !!! at about 180km/hr I passed him by like he was standing still - I am sure that your C2 would perform similarly - I personally have never raced an M3 with my C2 and do not really care too.
That my $50.00 worth - I will send you the bill.
Over and out.

Also,
How the hell did you fit 11" on the rear - you must have a camber from hell to tuck those under??? The 295's will play a roll - its either the clutch that will spin or the tires - the wider the tire, the harder to spin and "TA-DUM" clutch spin.
Wow - that is awful wide - what wheels do you have exactly?? I went with the HRE 540R's - a choice I regret - I heard that Gemballa makes some very nice wheels (or sells then rather - they are actually either made by Cargraphic or Speedline)

Not much anymore - time is difficult to come by. I actually live in Newmarket (beside Paul Tracey) that is my claim to fame.
The only racing I do these days are up and down the 404 !!
Yeeeee - Haaaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!
I used to have a '94 Lambo and an '97 Turbo down in Miami (pre stock market crash)- I loved to track those babies !!!
Now..... I have to work for a living.....
Ahhhhh - the good old days ........

Tommy we live close i am in markham. By the way my wheels are made by speedline and i had to adjust my cambers(-) i am intrested in taking my car to the track soon. Any tips for a beginner?
I could light the 265's when I wanted... if I wanted but I have 295's now and they never break loose, only around nice corners in canyons for a nice slip angle
You can fit 11" in the rear with the correct/custom offset. You could not fit the factory 11" wheels designed for widebodies on a narrow body because of the incorrect offset.
Car Guy, just curious why you do not like the 540R's. Personally, I think they are the best looking wheel out there.
My regrets on the HRE's are because I went with 18" and not 19's - I did not want to alter my rotating diameter or add weight - It turns out that I hardly drive the car and should have gone with the beefier 19's.
The wheels themselves are great quality.
Oh well.
Assos,
I am sure there are many people on this board more qualified than myself to give you "tips". I am not a professional on the track by any means - I have done my share of laps and classes, but I still have much to learn.
Where in Markham do you live? I have a few good friends down there.
Maybe I have seen your car - I saw a newer black 996 @ Kelseys on woodbine/steeles about 2 months ago with very nice Gemballa wheels sporting the porsche crests - it was lowered quite nicely and it caught my eye - could that have been you????
Tommy.
Tommy,
Yeap that was my beast, I live near 404/Major Mac
and work in the area, so you will see me there often. The vehicle has Techart suspension. Do you have anything done to yours? Its rare to see modified porsche in this town. If you want to email me directly ([email removed])i wouldn't mind seeing your F1, let me know if you are ever in the area.
