Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I pretty much had most all of the pieces available installed by them on my Cab.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm about to take the step of putting on some sort of clearbra on my car before I end up getting rock or stone chips. I'm just not sure which clear bra to have installed as I don't know if there are any looks or protection differences between the different brands? Also I was not going to protect the hood, as I dislike the line ending 1/3 of the way up the hood. Any suggestions on whether I should go ahead and protect the hood anyway?

POST 2Original post

I have InvincaShield and it has held up well. I would definitely do the hood. That is where you get a lot of stone chips. If you don't like the line, you can get the whole hood done. I notice you are from Palm Beach. I got mine done at Foreign Affairs Motorsports in Pompano Beach. Talk to Bobby at [phone removed]. Regards, Mike

POST 3Original post

I assumed they were all 3M products, jsut different thicknesses...but what do I know? I do know that quality of installation is paramount though

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the reply. I'll give Foreign Affairs a call as soon as I get a chance. What you said about the hood is what I keep hearing from everybody who seems knowledgable. Unfortunately, I just can't quite adjust to the idea of the 3M product covering half my car. If installed correctly how does it alter the depth/appearance of a beautiful paint job?

POST 5Original post

I have had it on Arctic Silver and now Speed Yellow and I think they look fine. Can hardly see it. Benefits outweigh the negatives. IMHO it seems to deepen the color. My install was excellent by the way. Regards, Mike

POST 6Original post

AdamB.. it's hardly noticable. Go to www.986host.com/gallery/doncapecod http://www.986host.com/gallery/doncapecod?&page=15 and page 16. There are pics of the installation and it shows how nearly invisible the finished product is. I had the front bumper; part of the trunk lid; rocker panels; mirrors; gas tank lip; and some other parts done. Practically invisible and well worth the money IMHO

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Once again, thanks for the responses. I think I will have the 3M material applied up the hood. I was going to cover the bumper and the rocker panels. Now I think I will also have the hood covered. Not sure yet whether I will cover the entire hood or the 1/3 mark which you have covered.

POST 8Original post

I would have the entire hood covered. I have 1/3 of it done at this time and that part looks great. The hood above it looks sand-blasted from all the rock chips. I f you can't stand that then get 2/3 done and that should avoid the large majority of the chips.

POST 9Original post

Adam if you are in NYC give Armourfend a call, they are in Greenwich CT, they cut their own pieces. I pretty much had most all of the pieces available installed by them on my Cab.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
