Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What should it cost me to get my brake fluid changed using stock fluid? I won't be doing it myself because I don't have anywhere to do it and don't have many of the tools.

POST 2Original post

Labor rate times 1 hour. Fluid price varies with dealers. I would expect anywhere from $9-$15 for the one liter needed.

POST 3Original post

do it yourself with the motul it's sooo easy and fun. Use some super blue racing fluid while your at it from ATE.

POST 4Original post

Oh yeah the botul is like 40 bucks and the fluid is another 12-

POST 5Original post

Does anybody have any DIY instructions? Loren... ?

POST 6Original post

Can the systen be bled like a conventional (non-antilock) brake system, with one person pumping the pedal and another opening the bleeder? I assume the antilock pump won't turn on with the key off(?). Is it necessary to use ATE fluid or can Castrol LMA or any good brand DOT4 fluid be used?

POST 7Original post

Lance, www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/mult_bleed_brakes/mult_bleed_brakes.htm I bought the Motive Power Bleeder, available at many sources for ~ $42, + ATE Blue fluid. Some people will alternate Blue vs Gold fluid to help with total flush vs just bleeding air. Please be careful not to get ANY brake fluid near your painted surfaces..not a pretty picture.

POST 8Original post

Loren has the best instructions that I have used and made it enjoyable and simple

If you don't want to do it yourself, the dealer I go to charges $99 for a point of reference.
