If they bolt up is the question, I suppose I will have to ask in the 997 forum if they changed the wheel carriers in the base 997 to the s+ carriers to use different brake calipers.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I bought I 03 996 c4 shell to swap all my left over parts from a car, that I started parting out years ago. I don't have any brakes for the 996. I know that the early base 997 brake calipers are the same as the 996 as they have the 996 part number. Will the base late 09+ 997 part number. Will the new style brake calipers fit the 996? here are the part numbers 997351421/422? front I know the S CS C4 are the same bolt spacing as the 996 turbo version and are used as an upgrade. I just want to make sure the Base version bolt spacing is the same. I know the base uses 330mm rotors in the front. here is a pic of base 09+ 997 calipers

POST 2Original post

Ohio Performance has the piston size the same for 996 and 997 carreras. If they bolt up they should function the same. Rears: https://www.ohioperformancesolutions...er-rebuild-kit Front: https://www.ohioperformancesolutions...bo-rebuild-kit

If they bolt up is the question, I suppose I will have to ask in the 997 forum if they changed the wheel carriers in the base 997 to the s+ carriers to use different brake calipers. I think that maybe the case, as I just watched a video or a 981 Cayman that uses the same base 997 calipers get upgraded to 991 CS 350mm rotors and calipers. It looks like I will have to ask there. The rears will bolt up as the 996 only used one rear wheel carrier/hub. The 997 S+ uses 996 turbo rear brakes. I'm going to use the turbo brakes in the rear. It looks like I may need 997 c4 wheel carriers as the 996 turbo carriers are over priced. I know the s wheel carriers will bolt up, but the speed sensors are different. I may need 997 c4 front struts?

POST 4Original post

Im pretty sure there r adaptors for the turbo calipers that will allow them to worfk on the 996 upright. U should be able to find the bolt spacing on the internet for the different calipers.
