Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Jurichar's instructions on how to replace just the LCD display are somewhere, but I know for sure they are Renntech.

I think I remember seeing a post on replacing the LCD instead of the whole control on one of the Pcar sites, either here, Renntech or 6 spped online.

Replacing the unit itself is a simple 15 minute job.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have an 03 996. The A/C Control LCD is starting to bleed out on the screen. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions to repair or replace. Thanks.
Mine bled and was replaced under warranty. Nothing you can really do if an LCD goes bad but replace it. You see the units on Ebay on a regular basis at way below dealer cost. My question: Is the Audi-display compatible with Porsche? Does it look the same?

Link is not working. There was a company on ebay that had the led, but it was listed for Audi. It worked but was a bit too large. The company then came out with a small unit for 986/996. Someone on renntech used it and it worked fine.
I think this is the website for the company that was/is selling them.

The guy at 914Rubber.com makes replicas of the original LCD displays. They are perfect, I have one in my car. (which is why I have a spare Audi display)
