The set I am referring to is the set of 4 that I bought on eBay and NOT from Warehouse33.net.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

An someone recommend a source for center caps. I've seen a bunch on ebay but would love to know what people are buying other than new ones from Suncoast (for example).
Ebay's still your best best. But, be sure you are bidding on OEM caps. Avoid the cheapo copies from China, etc. I made a post about them recently, if you hunt the forums.
I have these in genuine Porsche available on my website and I'm offering a 10% coupon for rennlist users through the month of April. Coupon Code RENNLIST

Correct, no $28.95 tool needed.
Here's mine, fashioned from an old bicycle spoke. The top one is the cap removal tool, the bottom one is for "fishing" the engine cover emergency release cable which I relocated to just behind the left tail light rubber molding (I have a thread on that, too, if you are interested).

Well the $89 set from eBay turned up. They aren't new as advertised but they're in very good shape. Methinks a Porsche in Florida is missing its center caps...
Here's what they look like with one of my old colored ones in the middle.
Why wouldn't you buy the cheap Chinese duplicates? Do they fall off? Does the color fade? Other than "you get what you pay" for and "do it right or don't do it" is there a functional reason to avoid them?
Thanks to anyone who knows.
In answer to the question from Todynot on 3/19: Jason, are these brand new OEM caps? Are you including free shipping even with the 10% discount? Thanks.
Perhaps I misunderstood, "Yep"
rpm's S2,
The center caps are brand new genuine Porsche, just to clarify the listing on the website is for 1 cap. Free shipping on orders over $99.00 and yes you can use the 10% RENNLIST code.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't get the knock off's.....it's got nothing to do with safety....etc etc....I've got 6-7 set's in many different combo's....you can't beat 18 bucks shipped for a set of 4. I'd had most of them for years with tens of thousands of miles with no issues...
How long will the cheap Chinese ones last before the break off? If they make it a year or two it would be a lot cheeper to get a dozen and replace them as they break off.
Why would you put cheap Chinese parts on a Porsche? If the ROI works.
Anyone have any luck with the Chinese made Porsche crested valve caps?
I just don't want them to fail and leave me stranded on the side of the road. I'm also concerned on handling them without gloves as it might have lead and other harmful materials. How long can I expect the Porsche crest to stay on without fading or coming off?
