This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Got this email today - anyone get something similar? Okay sure, maybe there's a sales gimmick behind it but still, gave me a little warm fuzzy! What you bought was used. What you own is a Classic. Porsche 996. What you bought was used. What you own is a Classic. Porsche 996. Dear Mr. Kelly There's no feeling quite like learning that something you treasure so much is actually more valuable than you originally thought. In 2014, the Porsche 996 generation 911 and first generation 986 Boxster join the ranks of Porsche Classics including the legendary 356, 914 and 959, the four- and eight-cylinder models like the 924, 928, 944 and 968, and the 911 models up to 964 and 993. As a proud owner of a first generation water-cooled 911, you appreciate the design and engineering that has always made Porsche iconic, and a dream of ownership worth aspiring to. While the 996 generation 911 is not yet "vintage," it is now a young "classic vehicle" that has proudly written its chapter in Porsche history. As an owner, it's crucial for you to know that the full support of Porsche Classic will guarantee the availability of Genuine Porsche Parts and ensure that our extensive service knowledge is preserved for decades to come. As we have for every other standard-production model with an end of production at least ten years in the past, Porsche Classic will continue to strengthen the reliability and longevity of these new Classic models, and contribute to them retaining and increasing their value as they progress from everyday cars to collector's items. Congratulations on becoming a part of the Porsche Classic family.

POST 3Original post

Except they don't make 'classic' oil for it yet

POST 4Original post

Is there a "how many threads can I use this photo in" challenge going on?

POST 5Original post

There isn't a second page that says anything like "If your IMS fails in your classic 996, we will replace the motor as a good will gesture..."??

POST 7Original post

All this is saying is that your car is a "classic" now so please don't drive it as much(as we, Porsche don't want any more bad publicity on the IMS. The less you drive, the less for the engine to explode, the better it looks for us)

POST 8Original post

I read it much differently, something to the effect of "Parts for your vehicle will now come in a 'Porsche Classics' box and thus will cost at least twice what they did beforehand. Thanks for putting our children through college."

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I just thought they were squeezing me for a 100.00 certificate of authenticity....hell I know it's authentic!
