Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just replaced my serpentine belt, which was cracked, and had reinstalled the air box when I saw a disconnected hose.
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect hose' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean throttle body' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I had the same thing happen, but got a stronger plastic piece from the parts store, just put that in, clamped it up, put the bolt in place and used a zip tie, to hold it to the bolt, probably 2 dollars just like everyone else said, I may look into the brass piece from HD though.

I also took the opportunity to clean the throttle body when I was in there.

these were so brittle that I just squeezed the hose and the plastic disintegrated and I was able to gently scrape it out.) Not an expensive part to replace but what a huge pain.

The upshot is that I found evidence of dried coolant on the hoses, which is not too surprisingly given the state of the coupler, so replacing the coupler will hopefully cure that.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I just replaced my serpentine belt, which was cracked, and had reinstalled the air box when I saw a disconnected hose. Turns out that there are two coolant hoses that are nestled by the oil filler tube and they connect to one another through a plastic coupler. Well that plastic coupler was toast and the nipples that go into the hoses broke off (leaving the plastic nipple in the hose of course... these were so brittle that I just squeezed the hose and the plastic disintegrated and I was able to gently scrape it out.) Not an expensive part to replace but what a huge pain. Seems as though each time I fix one thing I end up breaking something else! The upshot is that I found evidence of dried coolant on the hoses, which is not too surprisingly given the state of the coupler, so replacing the coupler will hopefully cure that.
There should be a plastic nipple directly above the hose at the bottom on the plastic coupler.
The two hoses all cleaned up with clamps removed.
Remains of the coupler. The broken plastic parts are what's left of the nipples. Metal clamp is of the single-use Oetiker variety.
The replacement one will fail the same way, just give it some time. I got a brass coupler from Home Depot and modified the remaining plastic bracket to hold the brass coupler in plqce. It will NEVER fail again. Cost was around $2. I used fuel injection hose clamps insteqd of stqndard worm gear hose clamps.
What Imo000 said....replace that plastic part with a brass coupler and fix that forever! One brass coupler you can get at Ace or Home Depot $3 and two hose clamps $2. Use the old plastic fitting, snip off the hose nipples and use as a bracket to tie the hose to it. This is really simple.

Thanks everyone. My Indy provided me with the replacement part so I just used that for now. When it happens again I will look into the metal part idea.
