I can't remember if the Supercups were basically just straight pipes replacing the headers or mufflers, having a brain fart right now?

I know there are people on here running the supercups, so if any of you can help it would be great.

It'd be really great if I could hear any 996's running Supercups in my area (Boca Raton).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

For some reason when I did a search only one thread came up, when I know there were more threads on Fabspeeds/Supercups and exhaust in general. And my computer is going really slow for some reason, and we have DSL, and I can't access the Fabspeed webite.
Who here has the supercups and how do you like them on a 996? I can't remember if the Supercups were basically just straight pipes replacing the headers or mufflers, having a brain fart right now? We are thinking about getting a 996 by the end of the summer, but already planning for mods lol. Looking something loud and aggressive, my Explorer had Flowmaster 40 series mufflers w/ a custom h-pipe and headers...so I like it to be loud and mean.
I'm going to try to meet up with

sometime, as I live in Boca Raton also, to hear his 996 as he's running a full GHL setup and thats the only setup I haven't heard and I've read nothing but good stuff about them. It'd be really great if I could hear any 996's running Supercups in my area (Boca Raton).
I know there are people on here with Supercups, so if any of you can help I'd greatly appreciate it; like how do you like them etc.., loudness, aggressive, sound quality (which I'm guessing is mean on a 996) etc....Thank You in advance.
I don't think FL. has any noise laws, I wouldn't be worried anyway heheh
This forum has been pretty slow the last week or two judging by replies to other threads??!!!?
I know there are people on here running the supercups, so if any of you can help it would be great. I know some of you have experience with them on the street I'm just curious as to how they sound with a custom header setup, or even with just the supercups and stock headers.
And also, if you have a website w/ a soundclip of them or even if you have a clip, doesn't matter.
Thanks,
Saleen
I ran mine with Fabspeed headers and FVD 100 cell cats. Too loud for the street IMHO. I only used them on the track, with ear plugs! Maybe with stock headers and cats but even then they are very loud. If you've ever heard a GT3 Cup car at the track (not an RS or World Challenge car), that's about what they sound like.

Hello Saleen...
I live in Boca Raton also and posted a thread asking for feedback on the SuperCups. Basically all the responses indicated they were too load for normal street operation. However given some of the drivers in Boca, it might actually get them to pay attention to the other cars.
The 996 GT3 CUP bypass pipes are loud but there are over 60 people driving around daily with them all over the world. Music to one person can be too loud for another. The system is emissions legal and aggressive very sporty sound.
If you want them we have them.
Have a great weekend

PS A simple sound test- is to remove your mufflers and go for a quick roadtest- this will give you an indication of loudness-- HOWEVER this test would be louder than a Cup system as the exhaust is dumping inder the cra RATHER than firing back away from the rear bumper. Also never get 100cell racecats on a Normally aspirated streetcar they just cause it to get very very loud and dont do much for power whatsoever.
The only problem with just removing the mufflers is that the exhaust is aimed at the side of the car and creates some nasty vibrations and strange sounds. I brought my mufflers to the local exhaust shop and had them bend a couple of pipes to try it out. They charged me $20.
I only use my 996 on the track and it sounds great under power. I'm sure some will like it on the street but it is pretty load.
