Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Reported cause
The issue is more related to the quality of work the shop does, not the brand of the paint.
Leading evidence: 'more related' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'more related' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Test panel' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I'm 100% they can match the paint now using another system however five years from now you will have a front bumper and side skirts that doesn't quite match the rest of your car.

Have your body shop use the exact same paint that was originally used to paint your car.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Should I insist that the body shop painting my Aero front and sides, uses the Porsche Spies/Heckler(Sorry..I'm not sure of the real spelling)paint?
My car is Arena Red Mettalic..
They insist they don't need to, but another shop states...yes you must..
I realize that the Spies paint will be more a match outta' the can, but maybe this bodyhsop really dosen't need it.
Thanks...Phattey..
I'm no expert, but I'm guessing that if you don't use the factory paint and forumulation with a red car over time differences will begin to show up. Red (and silver) are tough colors to match, especially metallic. JMHO..
With the modern paint systems, this really shouldn't be a problem. They match color and metallic every day. The issue is more related to the quality of work the shop does, not the brand of the paint.
Have your body shop use the exact same paint that was originally used to paint your car. I'm 100% they can match the paint now using another system however five years from now you will have a front bumper and side skirts that doesn't quite match the rest of your car. UV deterioration is based more on paint formulation than paint application.
Good luck trying to find the exact same paint. A lot of Porsche colors vary. For instance, most seal greys have different tints of red, purple etc. in them, even from the factory. My friend typed in the porsche seal grey code in his computer and sprayed a test panel. The color was totally off. To repaint my front bumper because of all the rock chips was a nightmare. I spent a week going back and forth looking at different test panels until I found the one that was closest. By the way, your front bumper is a plastic where the rest of your car is mostly metal, so the color on the different mediums may still look slightly different to the trained eye. Just my experience.
