Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Finally, dont be fooled by the high dealer used prices and their NADA rationale, they didnt pay that and they will ultimately deal.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

....for a 2000 Cab, 38K miles. I might get a good deal, so i was wondering if you 996 guys can give me some input of the price range I should pay. Thanks

POST 2Original post

i paid $57 for my 99 with 11k miles in Nov .. you can prob get yours for less even though its a 2000. these cars arent exactly flying off the lots with unemployment climbing up and up

POST 3Original post

There are alot of 2000 cabs to choose from, just take a look on ebay. 38,000 is alot of miles. You will see that there are alot of 15,000 mile cars to be had. My target price for a 2000 c2 cab 6 speed with 38,000 miles would be between $47,500 to $50,000 depending on the color combo. This is the price I would pay as the buyer, if I were the owner of that car I would be asking in the high $50,000 range ($58,000) as a 2000 cab is a great car and 38,000 miles is nothing for that car. If its a high option car and the options and the color combo are what you like then consider it, if not keep looking.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The color combo is silver on grey

POST 5Original post

I agree with Bob. Probably the upper end of the range for the silver / gray combo. Also, don't pay up for the options ... they are only worth a fraction in buying a used vehicle. Finally, dont be fooled by the high dealer used prices and their NADA rationale, they didnt pay that and they will ultimately deal.

POST 6Original post

about 50k, high miles and no shortage of these cars. maybe even less then 50k

POST 7Original post

There was a 2000 silver cab up w/ about the same mileage here in northern CA a few months ago (when I was actively looking for mine). First listing was $58K. The ad ran for at least 2 months and the price was progressively reduced. The last time I saw it, the price was $50K. I don't know what it ultimately sold for. If the vehicle you're looking just came off a lease (check carfax), the residual value the owner is holding against is <50% of the original MSRP. Not saying that is their lower limit, just suggesting a data point. Silver is a popular color, so if this owner won't deal, you'll find plenty of others. -jerry
