Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm hoping you guys can help with this off topic question. I considering buying a commuter car and am looking at a '98 Audi A4 V6 Quattro with 78,000 miles and a 2001 Volswagen 1.8T GTI with 42,000 miles. They're both about the same price. The GTI has a lien on it. How does that work when you buy a car from a private party? If I give him a cashier's check, he pays off the lienholder and receives the title. Is he supposed to just mail it to me then or what? He could just keep it couldn't he? The A4 is paid for so it would be an easy sale but I'm a little worried about the mileage. Both cars drive fine. Thanks in advance, Jake
