Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

So no one really told OP that while the K&N in some peoples mind may sound slightly different (better) but the cleaning agent (oil) in the K&N go downstream to the Mass Air Flow (MAF) and gums it up causing it to fail and gives bad readings to the fuel management system.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 4Original post

that was literally one of the worst videos ever. over a minute of pointless revving a cold motor with no load, meaning it will always sound like ****. congratulations

POST 6Original post

Spend some money,do the headers, cats ,and mufflers and then make a video of the car driving around thru the rpm range(under load) and then post it here....P.S hope the k and n CAI works out for ya havent heard many great about them concerning our porsches.

POST 8Original post

dyno results ?or did you waste money to sound powerful ?

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Very true. My 996 had one installed by the previous owner when I bought it. I pulled it off my car last summer after I finally got tired of it chewing through very expensive MAFs. Waste of time and money, makes zero difference to performance and very marginal difference to sound.

POST 12Original post

Honestly i think the stock clip sounds better. Anyone else?

POST 15Original post

Cheap hose kit FTW. Good for sound... Good for car...

POST 16Original post

Go easy, guys. OP just joined RL in December and presumably acquired his 911 recently. You were there once too ... no need to be d*cks.

POST 17Original post

So no one really told OP that while the K&N in some peoples mind may sound slightly different (better) but the cleaning agent (oil) in the K&N go downstream to the Mass Air Flow (MAF) and gums it up causing it to fail and gives bad readings to the fuel management system.
