Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey everyone,
Was a 2-tone dash ever offered in the U.S.? Black top and Savannah bottom. Im looking to refresh my beige interior and really like the look of the 2-tone setup, but I cant seem to find one for sale anywhere.
Not sure if Im just missing them, if theyre rare, or if they were never available here. If anyone has info, part numbers, or knows where to source one, Id appreciate it.
Thanks!
I've never seen one. I took my sea of grey dash and turned it into grey, black and carbon fiber. It's awesome.
I like your idea, why not just buy the used parts on ebay and make a custom dash? They are probably already different components, so maybe just bolt in?
My turbo has something similar through deviating Z code options.
[CZ] Full Leather Graphite Grey
[Z97] 3 Spoke Standard Steering Wheel In Deviating Color
[Z34] Carpeting In Deviating Standard Color
[Z108] Upper Dash In Deviating Standard Color
[Z109] Lower Dash In Deviating Standard Color
[Z110] Instrument Hump In Deviating Standard Color
[Z113] Front & Rear Seats In Deviating Color
[M6K] Natural Grey Floor Mat W/Porsche Lettering
[XSB] Sport Seats W/Rear Backrest Covered In Leather To Match Interior Color
I did a two-tone interior for a while and eventually went back to mostly monotone when I put in sport seats with painted backs to go with the painted center console. I still have an oem black leather instrument housing pod (whatever it's called) that I'd let go if anyone is interested.
Having redone both a 996.1 and a 996.2 dash in Alcantara, the upper and lower sections are one piece. It wouldnt be too difficult to just recover the top in black and leave the lower beige. Agree that it would be easiest to buy a second dash to rework. Trying to do it in the car would be a PITA, except if the windshield was removed and even then not ideal.

thanks for confirming they’re one piece. I had a feeling that might be the case but wasn’t totally sure.
I had interior fully redone and having Alcantara on teh dash was a god-send!!! No reflections in summer sun and I think it looks way better than the leather original.
The deviating color options first showed up in the 2002 order guide. These are very rare. The only used ones, if you can find them, will have the glove box. And then you'd need to have the good fortune that the colors match what you want AND the condition is to your liking. I just don't think the planets will line up for you.
As to part numbers. You can order these from porsche but you'd need to find a car with exactly what you want and use that VIN to order it. And god knows what that would cost.
I'd do as others have suggested. Purchase a used one and have it recovered to your specs. Final thought, I always found the Porsche leather (and wood) to be substandard. By recovering the dash yourself (or have it done), you can source a quality leather. The Relicate.com Nappa leather is superb and they can help match colors.
Very nice job and look. I am not really a fan of "the orange", the black and tan are great as are the seat inserts. Maybe a slightly darker "whatever"-orange or tan", but still, if tht's the way it came from P, I'd leave it alone.

YMMV
I don't know about a full black dash all the way across the top and then tan accents, but when I was buying I looked at a 996 turbo that had the natural brown full leather interior plus dash and black leather air vents, stereo surround plus a console that was black with natural brown leather. It was the best looking interior I have seen. Another one on BAT had a similar interior.
